I haven't been able to find a Device that has all the keys necessary for the Harmony 650 e.g. Contextual Menu/Back/Info etc. I used this, seems to have worked fairly well and will tweak later - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=153698

I am currently thoroughly confused and frustrated... Sad

Harmony Remote Software

Manufacturer : Microsoft
Device : XBMC

Should work!

It didn't work (not even the directional keys). Could the issue be the NUC receiver?

Found MCE Keyboard SE to be the most complete option.

I just use this device:

Manufacturer: Intel
Device: NUC D34010WYK

Works great on the harmony touch.

I didn't realize there was such an option. Did you have to customize anything, either in the xml files or the Logitech software?

Txs, will try this later. Is it mapped for OpenElec/XBMC?

I tried that and it didn't make any difference. All it did was bypass the POST screen so I couldn't enter the BIOS at all!!

The only working way is to take apart the nuc, dettach the cmos battery cable, wait some minutes and reattach the battery cable. That worked for me!

Sound and video works via mHDMI->HDMI but I don't get any sound device via mDP->HDMI.
Are there any settings to be done or do I have to change the mDP-cable?

..and how do I get the signal through the reciever when it's off? Is that possible with some kind of passthrough setting? Onkyo TX-NR5008. <- Solved

Someone talk me out of purchasing 16GB for the i5 haswell nuc i just ordered.

I am recycling a 120GB Crucial M4 SSD, I also have a 240GB MSATA that has been promised to another project.

http://goo.gl/ZGmLS2 (16gb and comes with Ghosts for PC) Not sure what I need that for but at $159.00 im not seeing too many other better priced options.

Any other ideas on memory options at newegg??

I have gift money there.

Usage,

Win7, HTPC, 3D via TMT6.5, and XBMC.

Later Usage: Hackintosh if i get tired of it as an HTPC.

Im upgrading from a

Core2Duo E8400, 4GB , Win 7 and Zalman HTPC case

Other and slower boxes in the house are Arctic MC0001 running 4GB ddr3 1.35v (OpenElec)

16GB of RAM?? For an HTPC?
Well, ok, it comes with 2 "free" games. But it's $160. So let's say the games cost $100 by themselves. That's $60 for 16GB of ram, which is a good price, but you will never use more than 4GB of it. And even that is overkill, IMO. You could buy the games separately, and get 4GB ram for like $40, save yourself $20, and not be any worse for wear.

** Edit: Oh, it's only 1 game. I misread the Newegg page.
In that case. It's a no-brainer. Get yourself 4GB of crucial 1.35V for $50, buy the game for $50, save $60.

you certainly dont need it but if you have all the other parts and dont mind spending the money, why not have 16GB of RAM alongside the haswell i5 processor. In the future you could turn it into a server running VMs or something like that. That said there might be better 16GB RAM that doesnt include a game (would you play the game or not?) for a cheaper price?

But yes you certainly dont "need" more than 4GB for your described usage... "want" on the other hand :p

I use It in openelec. Works great. With the new nightly the menu button now works as exit and brings you right back the main menu. I haven't customized anything. The things i use in xbmc all work.

Don't forget using 2 sticks of RAM will use more power.

I personally use 1 x 4gb stick.

OpenELEC uses less than 500mb Wink

I asked you guys for some links to some ram options.

I don't really want the game honestly, but if it comes with it I;m sure i can gift it or resell it for a few bucks on ebay/craigslist/swap forum.

Only reason I am getting rid of HTPC big atx case is because my recently aquired center channel is a monster and i need that area for dialouge domination Wink

Links greatly appreciated. I wont do anything less than 8 i suppose. Im not concerned about the extra energy footprint for 1 additional slot filled.

I will likley transfer to fanless case before long anyways. Another excess cost of 100+

I liked it much better when 4gb ddr3 1.35v was 25 dollars last year around jan-feb

I am looking forward to buying this NUC fanless
http://www.logicsupply.fr/systems/logic-...ore-ml320/

I read the first 60 pages of this interesting topic.
I was first afraid about issue when using HW decoding (black level issue).

It seems it has been fixed thanks to a few of you.

Can you confirm there is now a very good PQ with latest NUC, either with SW and HW decoding ? My intention is to use OE or XBMCbuntu.
- No tearing ?
- No audio issue (passthrough) ?
- No color issue ?
- No black level issue ?
- Perfect and automatic refresh switching (23.976, 24p, ...) ?

Other issue I should be aware of ?

I will use a Bluetooth Logitech TK820 as remote control.

Thanks for advise.
