I was wondering if it was possible to create a time shifting buffer to buffer a predetermined amount of data before playback starts on an IPTV Simple style pvr. The purpose would be to provide a smooth playback experience without or limiting the network buffering pauses you'd get with IPTV.
Is this something I could code onto the PVR? Has anyone tried something similar?
I'm looking at the timeshift buffer implementation in the dvbviewer pvr as a starting point. Where would I set the amount/quantity of data to buffer? How does it cycle viewed data vs new data? I don't want to fill up an SD card, also as a first iteration, if possible, there wouldn't be seeking.
Thanks for any help guidance.
