The YouTube plugin in XBMC 13 started working again beginning this month, but now the sound is clipping distorting the music. Changing output settings does not help.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
Clean: rm -r /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc
Download nightly: xbmc-20131114-aaba876-master-armeabi-v7a.apk
Install nighly
Start XBMC
In: system->settings->video set level to Expert
In: system->settings->video->playback set MediaCodec off
In: system->settings->system->debugging enable debug logging
In: video->add-ons->Get More... select YouTube and install
Exit XBMC to get a clean run
Start XBMC
(note: the infamous common cache error is still present)
Select Videos
Select Video Add-ons
Select YouTube
Keep default settings en press OK
Select Search
Search for thepianoguys
Select video Arwens's Vigil
Let it play. At 00:02:18 clipping of the audio starts
Let it play out.
Close XBMC
At this point the log was collected and uploaded.
Note that ThePianoGuys video's are very high quality and the sound distorions are not part of the video. The same video plays fine on every other YouTube player, you can verify this with the official YouTube app.
XBMC log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=85670
Addition: expericenced on 2 independend devices, a MK808B RK3066 TV stick device (Android 4.1.1) and an ASUS TF300T tablet (Tegra 3 with CROMI 5.1.2 Android 4.2.1).
Addition 2: Tested a third tablet, Cherry M1007 with AllWinner single core SOC and Android 4.1.1. It would be nice to know if this is common so I can file a bug report to the tracker, which I will of course not do if I'm the only one with this problem... I also tested Frodo 12.2 with the same video, no problem at all.
