EPG Timeline condensed
#1
Im running the latest nightlie, from the 14th, running most recent server and client versions. When I view the EPG timeline, it has condensed channels. Meaning I have 11 channels total, OTA channels. 7.1, 7.2, 11.1, 11.2, 13.1, 13.2, 23.1, 23.2, 23.3, 46.1, 46.2. The EPG timeline only shows 7.1, 11.1, 13.1, 23.1, 46.1. When I view the actual channels, there is EPG data there for every channel, the 7.2, 11.2, 13.2, etc. It simply is not showing in the timeline. I have switched through several themes, Confluence, AeonNox, and it is the same on all. I do not see any settings to "expand" the timeline channel listing.

Suggestions?

EDIT: I disabled 'Use backend channel numbers' and it displays correctly now.

I was just going to post that to you but I couldn't find the setting in gotham. I guess they decided to permanently get rid of it.

I'm running the latest Gotham, Settings > Live TV > General is where I found it. Are you referring to a separate option no longer there?

Probably have to change the option level to advanced to see it

Ah, probably so. One additional issue I am seeing with the EPG, I can view what is playing, I click on it, xbmc says working, then nothing. It simply won't activate the channel by clicking on what is playing. Now if I bring up the menu on said item in EPG and click switch to channel, it works without issues. It just won't actually change the channel from the EPG timeline. Am I missing something obvious? I thought it was theme related, but everyone experiences the same behavior.

Is this what you're looking for http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1561069 it allows direct selection of the channel from guide without showing the info/select screen

Thanks, that is exactly it! I've noticed it is inconsistent however. I'll click, get the working status, then nothing. Click again, working, then begins playback of selected channel. Occasionally it takes a total of 3 clicks for playback to begin. It does at least work now though! Thanks!

Also, I've noticed once I schedule a recording (timer) a few things happen. First, the channel currently playing stops. This happens regardless of whether the timer added was on this channel or not. Additionally, after a timer is added I am not longer able to switch to the EPG listing by clicking on it. Instead of nothing happening, I hear a blip of audio, then nothing again. I can switch/start play back by again bringing up the context menu and manually clicking switch to channel.

Restarting XBMC returns the behavior to normal.

EDIT: Log below when trying to change channels

EDIT: don't post logs to the forum, put the full log on pastebin, and the link to it here.

Setting a timer shouldn't stop your live-tv stream, unless the timer needs to start recording immediately AND the only tuner it can use for the recording is the one you are watching live-tv with. If neither of these are true. The we need to see the server log, so when you can, start serverwmc make the above error happen, then post the server log on pastebin and put a LINK to the log here. Also let me know the details of how you are using the gui to start the recording.

Also just worth pointing out that the gotham nightlies are still having various issues, including selecting items from the EPG causing "nothing to happen" which seems to be one of the things clientxero is encountering. Some fixes have already been merged but there is still at least one outstanding. The thread I started when EPG was totally broken on gotham nightlies still has discussion about the remaining issues, towards the end of the thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1575515

Any "strange" problems at this point could very well be due to these (or other yet undiscoveed) issues since some of th recent "vr cleanups" in xbmc gotham codebase. You really need to go back to nightlies prior to the 5th December to avoid these issues. Or keep an eye out for fixes and help with further testing/reporting in that thread

Thanks! The latest nightly from the 17th corrected both issues of selecting channels, and stopping playback when a timer was added. The 15th & 16th may have as well, but I have been busy so just now got around to downloading the latest.

Has anyone notice in the latest Gotham nightlies in the EPG Timeline you can go back a full day?

I don't see the point for this.

Yeah it was added as a feature, not sure what the benefit is supposed to be.

Thanks scarecrow, that's a weird request. there should have been an option to disable the epg timeline scroll back.

I agree, in fact due to this change shows that lets say span over an hour or more, are split between "earlier times" and current and the name doesnt display correctly if you view the guide half way through said show. At least this doesnt affect play back/general usability.
