Hi
has anyone managed to get BT sport app to play from ipad to windows xbmc? it works fine with youtube and files stored on the ipad.

I fail to see what this has to do with xbmc... If YouTube plays fine then it's app issue

Xbmc is receiver, if BT app(whatever that is) can send the stream xbmc will play it.
So if YouTube is playing fine like you stated, issue is clearly with BT app

You said that YouTube can send it? If that's the case then XBMC is enabled to receive airplay

Does XBMC do anything when you attempt to send a video to it?
For everyone, there are multiple types of AirPlay. There's where the video is an actual file of some kind and is hosted to the AirPlay target, there's where it's an encrypted video, there's where it's a URL that gets played, an encrypted video URL, or where the App just uses AirPlay mirroring (simiar to a video, but with a slightly different method and encrpyted). XBMC can only do unencypted videos and URLs, and no mirroring at all.
