AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds

1 - I just noticed the exact same thing. In my case it is more like a 1~1.5secs.
It started out almost invisible, then I started clearly noticing it (more than 0.5sec) and now at the end of the movie it is way more than a second.
2 - I also pressed 'o' and discovered that the player is skipping frames. Right now it has already skipped more than 200 frames. Maybe it is connected with the audio/video desync.
3 - Still using 'o' I also noticed that a 1280x720 movie is sometimes chewing up 100% and 90% of the CPU1 and CPU2 (dual core here). Also could be related to the previous 2 items.
4 - Last but not least, couldn't find a way to raise XBMC's video resolution above 1280x720. This is a 1080p tv screen that I am using and I would like to explore it to the limits.

I would really like if someone else commented on #1 which could well be related to #2 and #3.
Thanks in advance.

PS- will put my hardware on my sig in a couple of minutes.

su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/tsync/pts_pcrscr

Anyone know why PVR loading fails with "bad status (6)" since enabling this feature? Debug log doesn't give me more hints and library dependencies haven't changed. Compiled PVR can be found at https://manuel.mausz.at/coding/xbmc/.1.9...id-arm.zip (with NDK platform=android-14 + gcc 4.8 as recommended).
PVR loads fine on nightly builds before 28.12.

Does the official 12.3 release include this? I'm guessing no since it was released on 12-24-13 but I am just wondering.

Thanks for your reply.
I would change the permissions on that file/folder but I don't know how to SSH into the tv box.
Can you tell me how to SSH into the box or maybe tell me an App that gives me a bash shell?
Thanks Smile

Ok, just found a terminal emulator for Android. It works but it's not as convenient as an SSH server that I could access remotely with PuTTY.
Anyway, I found out that /sys/class/tsync/pts_pcrscr by default is rw-rw-r--.
I did run the chmod and it turned into rw-rw-rw- and then I ran XBMC.
When XBMC started I noticed that it also chmods that file (and some others) to 666 but when I loaded a video I immediately noticed that it started skipping frames right away.
So what could be behind all this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

No one experienced this issue?
Could anyone please play some movie and press 'o' while the movie is playing and let us know if you see skipped frames?
Thanks a lot.

The audio sync issue? Lots of people have reported it, actually. I haven't been able to reproduce it myself yet, but I only have one type of Android device. I have another that is actually coming in the mail tomorrow, and I hope to be able to do some more bug testing with it. Not sure if the same audio sync issue will happen, though.

I've actually been meaning to make a thread just for that issue to see if it's a bug or just some simple setting, or whatever it is. See what hardware is having the issue, what hardware is fine, etc.

VictorDUA for "video not shows at all" you speak about this issue (see the image link)?

No. If amlogic enable I don't have picture at all only sound. Player do not switch to full screen and when I try to play movie it's played background and only sound. If I manually switch full screen I have black screen and sound. When I turn amlogic off - everything fine except HW.

Looks like libamplayer.so broken in your box firmware. Try to upgrade firmware or search and extract libamplayer.so and libamplayerjni.so files from similar chipset firmware. In some cases this libraries looking for "original" box name so you'll have to change build.prop from that firmware.

Does anyone know why there are no PVRs included anymore in nightly builds for android/arm since 28.12?
