TVHeadend: no transponder XBMC: tuning failed
#1
Hey

I just installed my Sundtek MediaTV Digital Home III DVB-C tuner and set it up with tvheadend 3.5.247~g098b7de~saucy and xbmc 13.0-ALPHA11 GIT:4113260 with the tvheadend pvr addon 1.9.23 on Ubuntu 13.04.
All services were detected and mapped and I can see them from my xbmc interface. But when I try to watch live tv it says "tuning failed" in xbmc and "no transponder available for subscription" in tvh logs. When trying to play from VLC it says ""HTTP" direct subscription failed -- Tuning failed"

Does anyone know what I could do?

xbmc-pvr [Eden-PVR builds] [now included in mainline XBMC, so no more source link here :)]

Found a problem with PVR? Report it on Trac, under "PVR - core components". Please attach the full debug log.

Thanks for your help. I tried to reboot the driver and the PC but it didnt work. Then I disconnected the USB TV card and connected it again after waiting a minute and voilá, I can now subscribe to channels.

Now I have an issue with audio dropouts and video artefacts/heavy laggs. Some channels work better, some are unwatchable. I found only one channel which works perfectly but couldnt spot why some run better then others.

and so on.
same with AC3, MPEG2VIDEO,

Sundtek's Sticks are designed to work with linux, so I think the problem has to be something else. In my old apartment I had satellite-tv with a TBS QBox S2 working perfectly with the same setup. Now I moved and have to use cable-tv.

[EDIT]
Ok, it seems to be a problem with the USB Stick: http://support.sundtek.com/index.php/topic,1455.0.html
Lets see how long it takes to fix it.

I myself learned the hard way that getting the most expensive tuner is the only sane option. 99% of the time random bugs and issues such as this is caused by shitty hardware. It's amazing how much useless DVB hardware there is out there.
