XBMC Only Reads NFO File Once?
#1
There is a wiki article which says:

Quote:XBMC will only look at your NFO files ONCE. To refresh a lot of videos with custom NFO files (say, when you've updated the NFO file itself): Go into Files, and on the source you added for your custom videos - set content and pick <None>, then click OK. Then set content again as if you were adding them for the first time.

So if you manually edit an NFO file, you have to re-scrape the entire source? Is there no other way? Why wouldn't (1) re-scan library, followed by (2) clean library not cause XBMC to re-read every NFO?

I note that Wiki says, "To refresh a lot of videos..." Well, what about refreshing (including re-reading the NFO file) just one video? Or a handful?

You can do singular refreshing in movie info.

Cleaning only removes entire entries that are no longer found. (ie file not found) You would have to move the title, clean, readd it back and rescan. It will only rescrape the new one it found.
You can simply goto the information screen and manually refresh one at a time there.
If a rescan were to reedit the library every time that would be more problematic and undesirable.
Search first, provide details and keep forums clean. Mark things solved, to close them out and acknowledge helpful volunteers who share. If I have helped, click the plus button.
