Existing XBMC 'frodo' install addon or update possible?
#1
Hi

I cant see anywhere where i can add this fab program as an addon or install to my existing windows 8 frodo xbmc - which i have spent allot of time sorting all the movies and music on. Is this possible!? or:-

Do I have to re-install the windows build of your version of xbmc then add back in all my movies / music etc?
Are there any shortcuts/easy methods to do this?
Does the “XBMCHUB.com Wizard” addon work with your version of xbmc?

Will/Is there be any simple to follow tuts to set this up? maybe a youtube vid?

thanks

All info can be found in this thread - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=173361

It's not an addon, it's new core functionality to XBMC and is still in development/testing stage

Having spent 15mins carefully going through the 15 pages of posts and checking links within those posts i am none the wiser / does not answer any of these questions:-

Do I have to re-install the windows build of your version of xbmc (BUILDS Windows installer: XBMCSetup-20130913-3ac8fbb-retroplayer-pr.exe) then add back in all my movies / music etc?

Are there any shortcuts/easy methods to do this? (will http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:XBMC_Backup work?)

Does the “XBMCHUB.com Wizard” addon work with your version of xbmc?

failing any of these would http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...using_UPnP be the best way to go running two versions of xbmc (retro and xmbchub) on same PC?

Will/Is there be any simple to follow tuts to set this up or compile a windows version (only link i could find to complile is broken), maybe a youtube vid?

- can you be more specific please?

Hi vanticar,

The 20130913 version is based on the XBMC available at that time. Specifically, XBMC Alpha 7. The upgrade procedure is exactly the same as if you upgraded from Frodo to alpha 7 (not recommended, as alpha 7 is relatively unstable). Uninstall Frodo and install the 20130913 version, then your libraries should be updated automatically and reversably. If you re-install Frodo, your libraries will persist (but will loose any changes made while using alpha 7). Does that clear up any confusion?
