In the Add Your Own Remote section, "killall lircd" says that lircd isn't running at all. Then "ir-keytable -p LIRC" returns "Couldn't find any node at /sys/class/rc/rc*." When I run "irrecord /storage/.config/lircd.conf" in this section however, I can see that it is recognizing each key pressed.

Later under troubleshooting, "irw /var/run/lirc/lircd-lirc0" gives me a connection refused error.

The remotes work fine under stock OE as well as rbej's builds, Any further suggestions?

I am having trouble with lirc too but I can get it working until reboot with:

Code:
modprobe lirc_rpi
killall lircd; /usr/sbin/lircd --driver=default --device=/dev/lirc0 --uinput --output=/var/run/lirc/lircd --pidfile=/var/run/lirc/lircd-lirc0.pid /storage/.config/lircd.conf
Thank you so much for this - at last I can use my gpio receiver with the latest builds and their enhancements.
A few of my custom buttons don't work but I can live with that.
By the way, how did you come up with that 2nd command?

Quote:I have tried adding this to autostart.sh but it seems as if the second line has to be run after the gui is loaded for it to work.
Since I leave my pi mostly on all of the time I can also live with having to ssh and executing the command on the odd occasion I have to reboot.

Quote:On these latest builds is the OpenELEC settings addon working? On mine it says the addon "is not ready, please try again later", is anyone else getting this?
The OpenELEC settings works for me - it's showing as version 0.3.7 with MilhouseVH's latest build. I have noticed in the past that the settings were not working the first time after a new update but a reboot seemed to fix it.

@MilhouseVH - It appears that not only was I barking up the wrong tree but I was also in the wrong forest!

I got the info to get it working again from here and here. This shouldn't affect the button mapping though, which remote are you using?

(2013-12-07, 00:33)corb06 Wrote: I had some trouble with the latest releases. I have the PI connected to the tv with HDMI and the TV is connected to my 5:1 speakers with an Optical cable. I have set tv audio config to Home Theather.
In xbmc I tried setting speaker setup to 5:1 and enableing passthrough with dolby digital reciever and dts capable. However, when I play dts movies I cant hear center speaker, only surroundings. Also my speaker dont get DTS signals, since it just says DD movie in the speaker console. (Logitech Z-5500). Changing speakers to 2:1 seems to work. At least we can hear the voice of the characters, but its not real DTS.

Is the raspberry pi unable to send DTS content? Or do I need to try another build?

Optical audio cannot handle multichannel PCM, so set the speaker configuration to 2.0.
Passthrough (DTS/AC3) should still work and be multichannel if enabled.

However it's quite common for TV's not to support passthrough DTS over toslink, in which case there's nothing that can be done.
You can force DTS/AC3 to be passed through even if support is not reported with (in config.txt):
hdmi_force_edid_audio=1
But that will only help if your equipment does actually support DTS/AC3.

Thanks for the info. I tried hdmi_force_edid but then there was no audio at all when DTS reciever enabled. It might be the TV that is bad at sending the signals via optical. The reciever is DTS capable.
However when I play AC3 series I get on the reciever-console "Digital Content" so its working somewhat. But when playing DTS content there is just artificial 5:1 on the console.

Maybe its time to upgrade my home theathre setup...

Is it better to get equipment where we connect the HDMI cable directly into the reciever? And then send video from reciever to the tv?
thanks for build MilhouseVH and thanks for lirc working tas*

Hi, any ideas whether the subtitle issues are in work? shall we expect a fix sometimes soon?
thats the only part push me back from having this excellent build
thanks

I've been investigating and have potential fixes for two issue (all subs being rendered at time=0 and a flurry of subs after seeking).
I couldn't provoke any sync errors with subs after buffering, that I thought had been reported.
If this is still happening then I'll need more details about what provokes it.

On newclock3 branch. https://github.com/popcornmix/xbmc/commi...65927708e8
I'm trying to boot from nfs using the following cmdline.txt

ip=dhcp netboot=nfs boot=NFS=192.168.1.3:/media/data5/OpenELEC/System disk=NFS=192.168.1.3:/media/data5/OpenELEC/Storage ssh quiet

it works fine Rbej builds but not working with milhouse builds, any idea what changed or what I'm doing wrong with these newer builds?

thanks

Hi Guys, I have tried this with 3.2.4 and the MH build #0612.

Some of my Blu-Ray .iso images will play on my RPI, other will just show it as a "audio" track visulisation thing.

On windows runing 12.2 xbmc all the ones I have tried play ok!

I have upload a debug log id 94642.

If you search for "crash" you should find an example of an .iso file playing.

If you search for "bride" you should find an example of it failing!

Any ideas?

JB

Thanks popcornmix!!

MilhouseVH - any chances for an update build so we can test the subtitles one?
Cheers Gus

Not sure what, if anything, has changed but I would say that booting over NFS - while an interesting technical solution - is not really ideal and in practice leads to more problems than it solves (for instance, you lose all ability to update using the built-in update mechanisms). You can boot OpenELEC using an SD card as small as 256MB. Also you can drop the "netboot=nfs" option as that has no purpose.

OpenELEC_Gotham (Milhouse) - Version: devel-20131208095213-r16511

Based on tip of XBMC master (1a375ee8) and tip of OpenELEC master (95e91df3) with the following modifications:
  • Includes these newclock3 commits (except for 491d927 which I've replaced with a static spinner)
  • Includes proposed fix for NFS scraping (PR 3772)
  • Excludes the fernetmenta patch as this conflicts with the newclock3 ffmpeg (67ab12c) patch
This build includes the latest subtitle commit from Popcornmix.

subtitles work perfect!
excellent build!!!!
many thanks
On both my brother's and my own RPi, every time we boot it says "New CEC Adapter detected" even though we both have CEC set to disabled. Is there any way to stop this happening, as it's mildly annoying?
How to turn on subtitles download services in recent builds ? I've read they are now separate addons for each subtitles services, instead of one, but I can't find it anywhere in addons. I found some settings in video -> subtitles, tv and movies, but when I click on either i got empty list and I can't choose "get more ..." option.
