I'm sure this has probably been answered but I'm a total newbie here and haven't found it just initially snooping around. I've been using Windows Media Center in conjunction with an AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX USB tv tuner. It has worked just fine, but I'm interested in utilizing XBMC. I just installed it & can't figure out how to set up the Live TV portion. That is, what add on do I need? Will it work at all with this USB tuner? Can some kind hearted soul take pity on an idiot who doesn't deserve to live for posting something so infantile in this forum?

BTW, I'm running Windows 7 on this machine.

Don't worry, it's not that infantile to be using Windows 7 ...

Look up Windows backends - WMC, Argus/4TR, Mediaportal, NextPVR. That's the bit that talks to your tuner, and XBMC than has an addon that talks to that backend.

Best advice is "try them and see what works for you".

Since you already have WMC running, try the wmv PCR and server backend. It's pretty easy to setup.
