I have been experiencing issues with my Baytrail NUC.
I totally lost my windows 8 install today, I am not happy about having to re-install my OS after 9 days.

Is this because you were disconnecting it from the power constantly without shutting it down first?
If so - blame the OS implementation - not the computer you installed it on.

I didn't just hold the power button for 10 seconds or pull the power cable. The unit has a power button OS shutdown. The windows should gracefully shut down when I press it.
If it is on me then so be it.

Plain and simple the NUC is not competitive for XBMC for plain vanilla 720/1080 files. I can get 1 Ouya and Raspberry Pi for the cost of one bare bone NUC.
To my knowledge Intel has never officially confirmed the 24hz bug was fixed (show me the Intel official link). I have been asking them for a update for over 3 weeks on their communities forum (it's not like I asked them for their social security number it should be a simple yes or no answer).

Here are the reasons I regret buying my NUC for XBMC,
1. The NUC visual bios only works in 1024x768 resolution so good luck getting into the BIOS if you have a newer TV. I can't update my bios because of this "Feature".
2. No windows 7 drivers. (I like windows 7 it gives me access to a variety of programs and allows non-tech people to quickly adopt to a new box)
3. No CEC support. BTW I have all these Intel fan boys telling why I don't need CEC, how bad it is because the TV makers changed things and no-one should use it. Raspbmc runs just fine with CEC on my home TV and my friends/co worker's TVs. Why can't Intel license that the same tech?!?! it would cost them nothing. They probably spend more on corporate lunches every day.
4. Intel doesn't support XBMC. I also am displeased with the lack of an official response to the 24hz bug. (I am guessing their legal team is to blame for that)
