I have a question about the Remote realated. I have a philips remote controller and I set up as Microsoft PC and works under XBMC and Windows 8.1 very well. Now I want to assign/configure some keys like update library etc. For realise this I need to see all codes of RC when If I press any. Is there any way to see codes under Windows?

For anyone wanting to know, I just bought this Celeron version (I already have the i3 I'm using as a desktop) and put in 2GB of the cheapest 1.35v I could find and I can confirm, the Celeron version can play everything I've thrown at it including m2ts.
It will also bitstream HD Audio if you have a TrueHD/DTS HD compatible amp.
Front IR works.
I'm using OpenElec version 4.0.7 with BIOS firmware 32.

EDIT: This version of OpenElec:
http://openelec.tv/get-openelec/finish/8...ric-x86-64

I used the instructions listed here:
http://openelec.tv/forum/64-installation...345#110995

I however did not do the BIOS update as I figured 32 was pretty close to 34.

And yes, I had to insert the OpenElec install into the rear of the NUC otherwise it wouldn't run properly.

I'll quote the article/instructions above so you don't have to click through if you don't want to.
Quote:Just wanted to jump in and give some info on what worked for me to get everything working (except bluetooth) and I have 2 of these now.
Caveats: HDMI and f2 bios. Regardless of bios, I cannot get to f2 bios on my junky Hisense tv or my samsung computer monitor with a hdmi to dvi dongle. My Vizio tvs and through my pioneer receiver work fine. Sorry if you lost the monitor lottery. I assume you have a hardrive installed.

Bios update:
Grab the latest bios file from Intel's site that has the extension .bio (FY0034.BIO)
Grab your thumbdrive of choice.
for windows download: Rufus (rufus.akeo.ie/)
Insert thumbdrive to any windows computer.
Open Rufus. Select you thumbdrive and the GPT option. Uncheck using an Iso file. (we are just formatting the drive to a GPT partition table)
Now copy the .BIO file onto the root of the newly formatted thumbdrive. Eject your thumbdrive.
Slap it into a rear usb port on the NUC. (USB 3 ports *can* be problematic).
Boot the system and use the f7 option to update the bios from the thumbdrive. (If your drive doesn't show up, format again, try a different port, try a different thumbdrive).
It takes about 6 minutes to update and the system will reboot by itself.
Upon reboot, hit f2 to enter Bios. Uncheck UEFI boot, which will enable Legacy boot. I then fixed the time and upped the video memory to 512 MB.
Save and Exit.
Take your Thumbdrive back to your PC. Open RUFUS and reformat the drive using the MBR Partition for UEFI Computers. < (for reference I started here)
Download the .Tar file of the nightly generic 64bit version of openelec (snapshots.openelec.tv)
Open and extract the .tar file (7zip among others can be used)
Run the create_installstick.bat and follow the prompts. Double check your thumbdrive was renamed to OPENELEC.
Eject your thumbdrive.
Slap that thumdrive into a rear port and boot the NUC.
Choose the F10 Boot Menu option and boot from the thumdrive.
Follow the prompts to install OpenElec.
Reboot and remove the thumbdrive.
TADA!
This is what worked for me.

>max_rome: Simple answer is no anything plugged into the usb ports will be powered off when you power off the NUC. BUT if the NUC is powered off and you plug in a usb hardrive, the drive will power up and the NUC will still be off.

Hi I just got my NUC DN2820....

For what ever reason I could not get OpenELEC instaled on it. Even thought the BIOS was updated and I have followed EVERY instruction on the forum planet to get this resolved. Finally gave up and decided to have windows 8.1 based XBMC. Installed 8.1 successfully and installed the latest version of XBMC as well. Now the problem is I do not see Passthrough out put device. neither do I see DTS capable reciever or True HD capable reciever or anything. I would like to tell all I have a DENON X 1000 reciever, and another C2D based HTPC on GT440, where I see all these options available.

On NUC all I see is out put device, number of channels (which is 5.1) keep audio device alive, play gui sound and thats it all other options that I see in my other HTPC are not there. The only difference is the other HTPC is OpenELEC bases, and since I could not get openelec installed on NUC I have windows based XBMC.

I would also like to tell, that when I play a movie it does give 5.1 sound, but my receiver shows Multichannel instead of DTS or DolbyDigital on the display. Windows dound properties is configured as 5.1 and a test clearly plays audio in each speaker so windows is configured fine.

Under Audio ouytput device in XBMC I see

DIRECT SOUND: HDMI - DENON-AVR (Intel ® Display Audio)
WASAPI:HDMI - DENON-AVR (Intel ® Display Audio)

what ever I choose makes no difference ....
I have no idea where the problem is. why XBMC is not shown all those options and passthrough. PLEASE HELP

For True HD you have to use OpenElec, cause Windows Drivers does not support Passthrough HD Sound - https://communities.intel.com/message/247019#247019

Openelec is fine on NUC according to many other people, but as you haven't told us what exactly is going wrong, its hard to help you.
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)
