TVHEADEND TVH addon
Because you're doing it wrong. XBMC 12.2 is not supported anymore, and transcoding is done in tvheadend itself with the latest versions, not in the addon.

No I'm not. I don't care if it's supported because this is the version I'm using.
Transcoding works absolutely fine in Tvheadend, I can stream directly in various formats such as H264 and VP8 to other applications, VLC, TVhguide, but there is no dialog as there should be, it seems like a bug to me
Without wishing to intervene in someone else's argument, I think it's more of a feature request than a bug... native, production transcoding is relatively recent in tvheadend even if it's been hiding in there for some time, and 3.9.x hasn't even made it to alpha release yet, so it's hardly unsurprising if every desirable feature isn't there yet.

You could set up several different streaming profiles and allocate them to different users, and then change the user as which XBMC (and 12.2 is still firmly that Tongue) connects to the back end. Clumsy, perhaps, but workable...?

What a fantastic suggestion. Cheers Professor Smile

I don't need the configuration panel now and can stream through XBMC. Yay! Cool
Thanks @ProfYaffle for doing the explaining.

Any news on the binaries yet?
Could someone please compile the 0.9.8 for openelec (x86_64)?

I would love tout test it!

Here is the one I complied.

Here is the latest Android ARM. I've tested for only a few minutes on my Fire TV.

**Update**
Fixed the plugin and link. Working perfect on my FireTV running Kodi and running HTS Tvheadend 3.9.2331~gb85ec59 on an Intel NUC Ubuntu server.

Thank you for sharing, it works fine
can anyone upload for pi or put a guide up please
@stuCONNERS: the instructions are on the Github README. They're the same for all Linux platforms.
@stuCONNERS "here's one I made earlier"

Be warned though, I haven't tested it myself yet!

If you have a Linux box other than your Rpi then you could look at this http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?pid=1764649 post 127
I found it helpful, and as long as nothing "changes" I'll be using this method for my RPi.
TTFN.
Still waiting for negge's binaries, I suppose he's just busy because of the upcoming Kodi release Smile
I know some OS X users have been looking for a compiled version of the pvr.tvh addon.
This one is working great for me in Kodi RC2 (it will not work in Gotham). Enjoy!
