External ExFAT drive showing up as empty??
#1
After looking into the various different formats supported by XMBC I formatted my 1TB external USB drive as ExFAT and spent about 13 hours transferring all of my movies and TV shows to it. When I hooked it up to my Boxee Box (running XBMC Gotham) it shows up but when I browse into it it's completely empty....

I might also mention that I formatted it to ExFAT on a Mac system.

Anybody know why this might be happening? I'm close to just reformatting to FAT32 (as everything seems to read that!) but don't wanna have to spend another 13 hours transferring files if there's another way?? I thought ExFAT was meant to be supportedHuh

The Boxee Box is using an old Linux as a base and won't read exFAT format drives.

Ah I see! Too bad :-) Figured it might be something like that.

But FAT32 should be okay? Unless you have an opinion on a better file system?

I would use something more 'modern' but I'd ideally like it to be accessible by my Mac, my PC, my Boxee Box, my Raspberry Pi and my home network router....
