don't mean to hijack the thread but is there anything these days that the acer is not capable of? i honestly didn't expect it to still hold up after 3 or 4 years.

Anything that requires software decoding, like Hi10P or any of the above 1080+ resolutions, but those are either easy to avoid or don't apply to most people. My Apple TV 1 running Gotham on a light linux install (Crystalbuntu) is still going strong, and it's likely a lot weaker than the old Acer Revos.
