Amazon Fire TV for XBMC

My receiver is picking it up as DTS or DTS HD. So I'm assuming it works Smile As long as it's 5.1... I've been playing around with MA and TrueHD at 6 and 7.1 but the audio is horrible. I'm not sure how to correct this.

HDMI or optical?
I've had success in the Ouya build with Dolby Digital Plus passthrough with 5.1 channels over HDMI. It seems flakey when I change it to output 7.1 channels, but works on some files. I was unable to get SPMC to output anything other than stereo.

Edit - Also TrueHD and DTS HD. My receiver is a Marantz sr7002 if that helps anyone.

I thought optical couldn't do lossless, dts-hd or truehd.

It can't. HD sound is HDMI only, optical is limited to DTS/AC3.
Regarding working USB keyboard/mice combos, I verified my IOGEAR (model GKM561R) works. Although Shift and Caplock didn't work when I was entering in my video directories to XBMC (Ouya 12.3.2); is this unique to my keyboard or a common issue w/ all USB keyboards? Do I simply need to map the keys?

FWIW, on Ouya 12.3.2, I got a *small* bit of stuttering/non-smoothness when watching a 1080p H.264 rip over ethernet (info from Video Spec: "Format: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC; Bitrate: Max.: 31.3 Mbps / Average: 1 982 Kbps / Min.: ---; FPS: Max.: --- / Average: 23.976 / Min.: ---; Encoding Profile: [email protected]").
I could not get nine to see the USB port at all. Where do you map it in Xbmc? I plugged in a flash with my userdata folder it wasn't in mnt as usuall

From what I've read you can't use USB mounted hard drives with the Fire TV yet. Maybe later.
Well I'll try a keyboard that would sure be helpful.

Could you please test those two build and report the outcome, please.

SPMC 12.3.4 ( http://filez.semperpax.com/cyi80 )
SPMC 12.4.2 ( http://filez.semperpax.com/crjtv )

I want to help with testing, so gave SPMC 12.4.1 a test first, to make sure I could duplicate the stuttering/crashing issues people mention; however, everything is working fine for me with several movie tests. If it matters, I already had XBMC Ouya installed, but I have been assuming SPMC would be completely isolated from that. I left SPMC's settings on their defaults.

Can someone help me reproduce the issues w/ 12.4.1 so that I can test 12.3.4 and 12.4.2? Maybe it's the type of videos I'm playing? Or maybe some enabling/disabling of libstagefright/mediacodec (speaking of, how are these enabled/disabled?)?

Also, should I uninstall any previous version of SPMC before trying a different one, and if so, can I keep my data (i.e. via "adb uninstall -k")? It would be nice to avoid having to re-add video folders for each test, but obviously want to give a proper test.

Try one of the top three files from here: http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/

Also are you testing with stereo audio or 5.1?

I have a Hausbell Mini H7 keyboard and the shift key did not work either.

Can anyone who has the Logitech K400 verify whether the shift and cap lock work?

The keyboad map wasn't fully updated for Android until Gotham. The Gotham beta releases address that and the shift/capslock keys work for me on a Rii mini keyboard. The Ouya and SPMC are based off of Frodo and don't have the keymaps.

I assume the released 12.3.3 is commit 47e96e64098bbcc8fd84bcc095ff505259e85af9, and 12.4.0 is commit 91e2b1b36c1c63f2993da6ef045957404d858029? The history is somewhat complicated by that big rebase inbetween. I can try bisecting it tonight, if noone has nailed it down by then.
