Well what about a payed app in the appstore for codecs fees but also giving the option to download it for free in the xbmc homepage like we have now?
This way it will help spread the app for those who dont know or dont want to sideload apps.
My 2 cents...

Where can I get the XBMC icon? A previous post said in the XBMC wiki. Is that the Fire TV page (I looked, but may have missed it) or just generally in the wiki?
Great work on the root. I can't wait to try later.
And to the poster above me, I would assume you would substitute com.nowthisnews.vidplay/B00FG4MO04/ with Classic TV's package name within com.amazon.venezia and then see where the icons are stored. A file browser like ES would likely help. EDIT: It looks like jjhtpc mentioned com.adrise.profilms/B00IIPRAZB4/ in his post.

Thanks. Got it using ADB shell commands via Windows CMD prompt...
adb ls /sdcard/.imagecache/com.amazon.venezia/com.adrise.profilms/B00IPRAZB4/ (Classic TV app)
