Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I am using openelec 4 latest beta, also tried the stable one. Same issue. My recently purchased hdmi Cec adapter is not working on my nuc. The peripherals option is greyed out and the Samsung smart TV is not detecting any Cec compatible devices either.
I have the adapter connected between the nuc and the TV, I was told it will be a straight forward plug n play setup but has not worked for me so far.

What do I need to do to get the Cec adapter working?

Which one is it? Thought it wired like this:

TV ----- HDMI lead ----- CEC adapter ----- HDMI lead ----- NUC

Aren't they directional too? Meaning they have to be connected a certain way round to make them work?

How old are your HDMI leads? Could have CEC pin missing?

I figured it out. The USB port on my htpc is bad.
