I have XBMCbuntu v13 Gothem intalled on a Zotac Zbox ID81 Plus-U hard drive. Everything works great! Including the remote. But the remote is limited to a few buttons.

It's the remote to the left with color buttons on the bottom.
Now this "Context menu" button is necessary to edit, scan & add and remove individual videos and sources! I have read a few very confusing threads including this one: http://ben.periton.co.uk/2012/06/configu...e-control/
It seems like I can get other buttons working as well. I would really only need the "context menu" button to work and I will be fine. Things are working very well as they are are and I do not want to mess anything up!
I can smartFTP into the Zbox. Can any of this be done through smartFTP? Or do I need to ssh in with putty? Will the instructions from the link be correct and how will I be able to edit .conf files? Will the update mess up the latest XBMCbuntu 13 Beta? I am just not sure what to do, I do not see the paths listed for the .conf files. Will the update create those paths? Can someone help me with a sure fire way to get the Context Menu working?
