can someone tell how to mount a hard drive in the most noob friendly possible

hi
i bought a 2tb external hard drive for xbmc i have just put several movies on it and when i went to test it nothing, it is not a power thing as the light in the drrive comes on btw. i heard ou might have to manually mount it can someone give me a noob friendly guide as the drive did cost a lot

For starters, tell us what you are mounting it to. What hardware, .. A linux, windows, or OpenElec computer? Which XBMC? What format is hard drive? USB 2 or 3? Any other relevant info you can think of.

sorry rasberry pi w/openelec, ntfs and usb 3 hope that clears things up sorry

I know Openelec doesn't like NTFS, but it should work. Ext4 is preferred format.

Might want to search the OpenELEC forums for this specific issue; this or this might help.
