Linux Gapless Playback?
#1
Hi there,
Does xbmc 13 support gapless playback of for instance fac files? Xbmc 11 supported gapless playback, xbmc 12 did not.

Iam speaking of gapless playback via samba protocol, not via upnp protocol.

Why not testing it out?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

XBMC 11 (Eden) supported gapless playback? I don't get gapless playback on my 1st Gen AppleTVs that are still running Eden (I'm currently using NFS network protocol; I don't know if that makes any difference). I know Eden had the choice of two players and I'm not using the "PAplayer" since it seemed to need to "buffer" on FLAC files while "DVDPlayer" always works flawlessly. I also noticed there's a large volume output difference between the two players for reasons unknown, making me think perhaps PAplayer wasn't data accurate (i.e. I know DVDPlayer could output DTS, etc. just fine).

Really, the lack of gapless playback on those 1st Gen ATV devices lead me to convert my stereo FLAC songs over to ALAC instead (using XLD) which works inside the AppleTV's own interface, where gapless definitely works and ALAC files still play in XBMC fine as well.
