I'll need to hook back up to my Panny VT50 to confirm, but this isn't optimal on my Dell WFP-2408.
On it, the xrandr Full/Auto/Limited settings seemingly have no effect, and I get the following:
16-235 xbmc setting disabled: black clipping good (ref 16); greyscale ramp: stairstepping
16-235 xbmc setting enabled: black clipping incorrect and blacks extremely grey (ref 0); greyscale ramp: smooth
I'd like to have a bit better handle on this before I add it to the wiki
