COMPLETED: XBMC v13.1 RC1 testing
#1
Information
TESTING HAS COMPLETED, 13.1 is released. Thanks for testing and keep an eye out for future testing request threads!

While these are test builds for a bugfix version, they are still test builds and are not yet considered stable. Proceed with caution and always backup your userdata folder (wiki)!

What is this:
  • These are test builds for anyone who would like to help with testing the upcoming XBMC v13.1 bugfix release.
  • No new features have been added to this version.
  • Only bug fixes have gone in.
The main aim of this thread is to help make sure that no new bugs have accidentally slipped in as a result of the other bug fixes.

Where to download:
Builds can be found here: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/

How to help:
  1. If something was working in v13.0 and is now broken in pre-v13.1: This is the main thing we want to know about. Please include in your post:
    • Say if this was also an issue in v13.0 or not.
    • A debug log (wiki)
    • The build date (in the download URL or in system info on XBMC)
    • Details about your system (OS, hardware specs, etc)
    • Steps needed to reproduce the issue (play a movie, go to a file list, use an add-on, etc)
    • The more details, the better.

  2. If something was broken in v13.0 and is now fixed in pre-v13.1: feel free to post about that. Confirmation is always nice.

  3. If something was broken in v13.0 and is still broken in pre-v13.1: please do not report it in this thread unless it's something we specifically asked to be tested. Report those bugs/issues in a new thread.

Changes:
Changes for v13.1 are listed here: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commits/Gotham

A quick list of fixes include:
  • Better recovery of VDPAU on errors.
  • Fixes for cropping of interlaced content using VDPAU.
  • Fix for FLAC tracks with large embedded images not playing.
  • Fix for crash if librtmp wasn't available.
  • Fix for ffmpeg building on linux using later versions of librtmp.
  • Fix for broken m4a, mp4 playback with paplayer.
  • Fix for the hint text not being shown in editcontrols once unfocused.
  • Fix minor memory leak in PlayMedia builtin function.
  • Fix albumartist use in song smartplaylists.
  • Use unique client broadcast UID in the PVR api.
  • Fix crash at exit while airplay is playing.
  • Fix weirdness when certain TVs query XBMC's UPnP server and it
starts running a bunch of add-ons which cause popups on the XBMC
    machine.
  • Fix resume point of certain PVR items begin stale on playback.

As always, a huge thanks to all our testers for helping make XBMC better for everyone!

Sorry, but that's probably not an XBMC issue: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...0e24c32325

I think the files your have posted are corrupted. most like the install part. I been been dowloading XBMC version for 18th month or longer on Win7 and Android never had an issue before. Also have tried 2 different PC's same issue same message. same message 13.0 and 13.1 Beta. Please check.

Seems to have fixed many freeze up issues where only Ctrl, Alt, Del would work to get out of the freeze up. Nice work.

We now have a second beta for 13.1. See first post for updated links. A couple more fixes were squeezed into this:
  • Fix crash at exit while airplay is playing.
  • Fix weirdness when certain TVs query XBMC's UPnP server and it
starts running a bunch of add-ons which cause popups on the XBMC
    machine.
  • Fix resume point of certain PVR items begin stale on playback.

Don't worry if you don't see a fix for a given issue yet, as there will be more bug fix releases in the future.

In latest beta2 if I suspend and resume the HTPC video refresh rate gets always back to 60hz. If i do reboot it stays at 50hz as it should. The same behaviour was present already in beta1.

Was this behavior present in v13.0?

That most likely has nothing to do with xbmc, but with the underlaying system.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
