everything I tested (mostly mp3s and youtube videos) work perfectly now

I am not sure why that is but with my sound system things sound waaaaaaay better with the transcoding enabled

Some AVRs apply manual amplification on different channels and interpret the ac3 signal in an own way. With gotham+1 there will be DSP Addons and then you can apply similar functions on the different audio channels.

what I meant was that I switched from the nightly ppa to the release ppa because there were no more changes in the nightly for a while
and that reintroduced this error to my system
does that mean the nightly is still "newer" than the release even though it wasn't updated for ages?

Latest stable is 13.1 which does not have that fix.
Fix was backported to 13.2 (which is not yet released).
Nightlies have it since the date I wrote and pushed that fix.

In short: If you want the stable version, recompile the Gotham branch byself. A ppa that is updated daily is: https://launchpad.net/~wsnipex/+archive/...nta-master
