Yes, i tried it myself yesterday on a Win8 x64 computer, and got same error. it has only been tested on Win 7 x64, and works without problems, it seems to have something to do with api call for enum window, i will try to fix it.

a tiny change:

When creating playkists, one can now search media between startdate - enddate. to list all media starting with letter "K", start with double space followed by letter K.

Changed Xbmc window handling, dont know if it got better or worse

If changing width or height on a boarderless window, boarders will appear, and one need to restart xbmc to run in boarderless window mode.

Made some corrections, so it should work for now.

Good question! I'll start of with the basics/functions.

Basics
- Playlist that works with pictures and videos. (not randomized slideshow of a folder, but actual playlist)
- Option to play music when pictures are on the screen
- Playlists can be auto generated based on folder
- Length of time to display photos option
- Number of photos/songs played before a video is played.

Advanced Functions
- Folder monitoring for new pictures
- Auto Generate new playlist // insert new pictures near the front of the current playlist to play next

Super Advanced Features
- Mailbox monitoring to auto download pictures/subject to a folder (a few functions I found already can do this)
- Facebook // Twitter // Instagram monitoring to download pictures/message to a folder
- Display message with picture + source, from who, etc

Super Super Advanced Feature
- Play music over a personal video, but not a music video, for seamless music playing (somehow use a different audio stream while playing a video!!)

What's the point?
- My daughter's first birthday party! I want to create a playlist of videos and pictures of her first year to play on the tv while guests are over. I want music to play with the pictures and people to enjoy the home videos too
- I want people to participate! Guests can take pictures and have them show up on screen with their messages!
- I also get to keep the pictures for memories. The interactivity may encourage people to take more and better pictures!
- I could be in the pictures instead of taking them all
- People can participate remotely by wishing my daughter happy birthday

Who else might use it?
- Vendors at trade shows! Comic con vendors could get people to take pictures with their merchandise than have it on display while showing off their content for example.
- People at weddings!
- People at engagement/bachelor type parties
- Potential screensaver option that plays pictures and silent videos

I can help with programming but I need help integrating some of the core features. Let me know what you think!

Crashes on load with win8.1x64 with "Exception EOleSysError in module autoxbmc.exe at 000A8E09. Class not registered." error

I will try it on a win8.1 x64 today and see if i can fix that error.

I tested autoxbmc on a Windows 8.1 x64 and had no problems at all, no errors and controlling Kodi went flawless.

If you still got problems try disable your antivirus program temporary (Autoxbmc programfile is compressed with upx and some antivirus program dont like that)
or disable uac
or run as adminstator (my program does not change anything in your computer other than under kodi\userdata and program folder containing autoXbmc.exe)

I also fixed some other small things that i missed (playlist video preview was not working)

I run as admin, UAC completely disabled (not just no notifications), tried with and without AV (basic windows defender), same crash. Tried your new version, same crash. Running your prog from c:\autoxbmc on 8.1pro x64. Running on a modified asus eee, intel atom based.
