Hi guys,

i installed xbmc on a Windows PC together with a mysql DB on a qnap NAS (TS-412). Works like charm.

A second windows PC can also access the mysql DB without any problems and everything works as expected.


Now I've got 3 Android devices with all of them ending in force closes after a few seconds after opening xbmc. The database seems to be accessible as I see the Movies / Series and it is also loading the covers.

The devices are using either Gotham 13.0 (Minix NEO X5) or Gotham 13.1 (Acer Inspire A510 / Nexus 5).

Please find the logfiles of the Nexus 5 attached.

Without the advancedsettings xbmc does not force close. Thanks for your help

Looks like it's crashing on samba, actualy. No direct relation to mysql.
It's probably not crashing without AS because your db is then empty.

Would there be something special with this file: smb://FELDMOCHINGNAS/NAS/shared/Serien/The Wire/S05/The Wire - S05E02 - Schlagzeilen gefragt.mp4 ? It's crashing while trying to extract a thumbnail out of it...

Okay guys...stuff works now.
Here is what happened:

I changed the share on the QNAP NAS from smb to nfs. Now everything works. So there seems to be a problem with the smb share on the QNAP NAS. No idea what exactly is the problem here but after all the solution with the nfs share works great.

So thanks to Koying: the mysql DB was no problem at all, the hint with the file gave me the right direction on where the problem was.
