Hi,

I am currently running the latest version of xbmc on a windows box.

I am considering changing platforms to an openelec box.

My question.....

Can I simply backup and restore my 'userdata' folder to retain my library, etc. or will the whole DB have to be rebuilt.

I have a rather large DB with artwork, etc. and would hope to not have to re d/l everything.

Everything in the userdata folder should be platform independent. Just remember that the file paths for the library might change unless those files are on a network share.

What Ned said is of course correct but I wanted to add this:

An option to save the artwork is to export the library as seperate files.
Your selected artwork will then be placed next to the video files and on rescrape will always be readily available.
