Fixed it now mate, It was down to my bt hub 5 having smart set up enabled. Strange that my music add ons still worked, but hey ho its fixed.

Hello I recently bought a M8 S802 with XBMC Gotham pre-installed (beta version). After 30 mins the box just stops working, no ethernet activity can be seen at the back of the device and it does not react on the remote. After unplugging the power cord and wait for about 10 seconds the box is up again. However this happens all the time. In have just different firmware version. Any suggestions how to solve this issue?

Hi all,

I'm not new to xbmc, but I am new to xbmc on the android platform.

Recently bought an M8 android box, pre-loaded with Kit-Kat 4.4.2, I have installed Gotham 13.1 ARM version onto said box.

Added Fusion, and used the config wizard to set it up as I usually do as a starting ground. However, every movie app I go into (GOmovies, GOtv, Icefilms, Istream, Movie25,Yify) all come up with just a blank page. I've tried reinstalling Xbmc, restarting it. Doing a fresh start using the add on, but without success. I have also tried another box, as I have 5 of them, and none of them will work. My internet connection is definitely ok, so it's not that.

Also, my IR and my I8 remote that came with the box won't allow me to move around the on-screen keyboard, has anybody else had this problem with there remote? I can only type out the letters on my I8 but not using the directional arrows to move.

Does anybody have any idea's? or is having the same issue?

I've noticed from my log that it says cpu-2 cores available, I thought these boxes were supposed to be quad core? Or are the other two cores for the GPU?

this problem is doing my head in too.......

I have the same problem with the IR remote not working with the on "screen keyboard" on 3 different new M8 square boxes......?

the on screen keyboard comes up but the up/down/left/right buttons don't move the courser around.

the ir remote works fine on all other parts of xbmc.

i also get the dreaded "swipe down from the top to exit full screen" message (can get rid of it but doing a mute/unmute from the ir remote)

did you manage to resolve this issue?

ive tried about 4 different firmwares including finless but it seems to be doing the same on all of them.

its xbmc 13.0 gotham build currently on the ACEMAX M8 0516 rom.

any ideas?


EDIT:

ok heres the 50% for the swipe down issue...........you need to click the ok button with the mouse pointer to get rid of the message, the system then remembers this and wont remind you next time..

OMG....total Nooboid!! for IR remote problem.

in XBMC system/settings/input devices - tick the "remote control sends keyboard presses"

Does anyone know where to get a stable version of XBMC? I'm having issues XBMC stops working after watching a movie for about 30mins, very annoying.... I'm currently using the http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?1...Android-TV provided by Danielv561 but still stability issues.
