Genres are scraped from TheMovieDB. Kodi does not have its own genre list, it only displays what is scraped.

Just be aware that the Genre posters in Kodi are based on English names. Nobody has submitted Genre posters in other languages.

So a movie or tv show with the genre "Science Fiction" looks up the poster named "Science Fiction.jpg" and displays it. This is in your Genre listings.

If you do not use genre listings, then there is nothing to worry about.

I made it like sice a couple of years.
But it doesn't work anymore for me since last skin titan + kodi update + last version of Tmdb. ( before, i used tvdb)
Actually, tmdb had french genre for series, but missing some ( ie : Kids)
And Titan skin translate correctly , but forget series. ( in next uptate)

I have all the information I need 😊
Need only add series genre in the skin.

Hello everyone!
I have been trying to debug and get TheMovieDB to work on my Android TV Box. I am trying to play a movie from my Trakt list from the library sidebar tab Movies. However, when I click this, it gives me an error saying that the playlist does not have anything to play. I have linked the log file below and am completely baffled! I would appreciate any help! I am on Kodi 19.0 and have put the link for the providers/players for the helper (https://bit.ly/tmdbplayers). The movies work through Seren, so I am guessing it is an error with one of the python files.

Line 1900 is around when the errors start, and it seems to be an error with one of the players regarding Gaia? I do not use Gaia on this device, only Seren and The Oath.
Someone did suggest deleting some player files, but I can't seem to do that!

Has themoviedb changed the API recently?

I'm using: Kodi 18.9 Leia (Raspberry Pi 3, LibreELEC)

and I observed an issue with scraping the following TV Show:

With "The Movie Database" (3.5.13) add-on:

No poster is displayed and some garbage id displayed as a content (when I press 'I' for Info).

With "TMDb TV Shows" (1.1.34) add-on:

Instead of Der Zauberberg [1984] (DE)/s01e01.mkv, try Der Zauberberg (1984)/der.zauberberg.s01e01.mkv

It is not a problem with parsing file names.
I use nfo files, where I put an explicit URL, like:

It is rather an issue with various languages.
TV Show description and and the poster were available only for German language (I eventually added English description to the TV Show)
My language setting was Polish and as far as I understand - Scrapers use English as a fallback, but in this case neither Polish nor English versions of the TV Show were available.

Anyway - I observed that many TV Shows, which could be properly scraped in the last weeks, are scraped now without the poster Sad

The same TV Shows seem to be properly scraped with the Python scraper.

Can confirm that for example, the anime "Shadows House" was properly scraped a few days/weeks ago (not sure), but that's what happens right now: log

On every log it seems to find the actual artworks, but then it fails on the "Parse" part...

I have problems with no artworks when scraping (other metadata seems to be OK). Same problem was with Movies 2 weeks ago perhaps the same thing. Anybody else same problem?

Yes, I had to rollback to kodi 18.9 to use artwork beef, I'm so frustrated because nobody seems to know how to fix...
