Sorry but I do not understand how to fix the issue. I am a newbe.

My doubt is which of this solution choose:

a - uninstall version 5.1.17, delete plugin.video.youtube from .kodi and reinstall the same add on from repo

b- doing the same but installing version 5.1.19 from zip file as explain here:

I have generated new API for every section, expect youtube-tv. In this case, we use the API of YouTube TV.

You can download from here
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_QaKV3...sp=sharing

I maintained the original dev name. If the Kodi Team want, i can give the email with password where i have generated the new API.

Thanks anyone for their contribution. I hope this can help anyone that want back YouTube and isn't able to fix.

Remember

Delete the folder on your userdata plugin.video.youtube. You can found the location here http://kodi.wiki/view/Userdata

thanks!!
Install 5.1.20. Download from here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2258172

And delete the folder in your userdata plugin.video.youtube. And you are ok
hi,

I did not know there is a 5.1.19. Have not tested that but will try it.

I would try both. I will test later

Would it be possible for all of you good people who have made modifications and alternative versions of the add-on to get together and co-ordinate work and available installs so we don't have different versions available from different sites/repositories with possibly confusing and/or clashing version numbers and API keys etc?

Ideally it would be nice if a proper fork could be made (either by one of you or as a team perhaps) so things can be kept clear, understandable and ideally be made available via the Kodi Repo rather than various other places that need adding or special work to set up. It's great that so many people have tried to help out and keep this valuable add-on up and running since Bromix stepped away, and I'd rather not see it all become confusing, frustrating or lead to any arguments or bad feelings.

Any chance someone could look into thus, please?

Thanks

You need to do that

Thanks. That did the trick

I was kind of surprised to read this... do you really feel Kodi's UI *for YouTube* is superior to the YouTube one? How so? Considering that YouTube TV offers the opportunity to link to your smartphone app... I'm not so sure. Then, I'm all for a "built in" experience but felt, for quite some time, that by using the plugin we were losing out. I might be missing stuff, though, this is why I'm asking.
One strong advance of the plugin approach is refresh rate switching, for me personally. No stuttering.

When using these keys, youtube authorizes an app called Featherence Youtube. I'm not really sure what that app does so I removed it from my approved youtube apps and changed my password.

Hopefully Finalmakerr can share with us how to get that "youtube-tv" key set up properly.

I think that Featherence is finalmakerr

That's must be just a project name for the specific API key.
If you have any name suggestions then please let me know Smile

Also be kind to quote me with @ as I may miss your reply otherwise.

@finalmakerr the question is about how you went on creating the API key for the youtube-tv entry. Everybody here has tried to use the one we create for the other entries but it's no good and leads to My Subscribtions not working. Do you understand the question now?

Well what I did is the same thing I use in my addons (I also have my own API with some codes) but i use YouTube plugin for browse and play as well.

You should go for the Server key or web key ( I mixed them both).
I also have created a project for each key so more quota is available for us.
When someone get his hands on developing Bromix's work, first thing to do is adding additional fail safe for API auto switch.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Bear with me, I'm a total newbie when it comes to this.

In my Kodi YouTube project at https://console.developers.google.com I have activated the follwing APIs:

BigQuery API
Cloud Debugger API
Debuglet Controller API
Google Cloud Logging API
Google Cloud SQL
Google Cloud Storage
Google Cloud Storage JSON API
YouTube Analytics API
YouTube Data API v3
YouTube Reporting API

As far as credentials are concerned, I created API keys and OAuth 2.0 client IDs. But if I use these key and ID on the youtube-tv entry in login_client.py, the My Subscriptions section ceases working. So, you see, I completely lose you when you talk about server or web keys... I have a key, an ID and a secret. If I use those on all other entries, everything is fine. On youtube-tv they break functionality.

Bromix original ones or yours (I haven't tried) don't break MySubscriptions. How is that? How did you go on creating a different set of credentials that work for the youtube-tv entry in login_client.py? A completely different project for some reason? How? Smile

And thanks in advance, obviously.

I have been trying to figure this out myself.

I don't think the 'youtube-tv' credentials actually belongs to Bromix.

Inspecting the http://www.youtube.com/tv address with Firebug, I came up with the following:

These credentials match up with the ones Bromix used in the addon.
Great find I_TerraBull! Now I wonder, is finalmakerr version using those same credentials or different ones? And, if different, where did he got them from. Furthermore, does My Subscriptions work in his version of the plugin if using different credentials?
