pvr clients can't play/see listing of all recordings stored on two drives

I forgot all about this. There might be a way to trigger it, thanks for the info. To reproduce this, I just have to move a wtv from the recording folder to the watched folder, right?

that's it. I have a scheduled task do it, but i don't think it matters how. wmc and swmc will notice that it's disappeared from the local folder, but won't notice that it appears in the networked folder.

Is there anything special about the networked folder? Is it on a different pc than the one running swmc?

It's on a different pc to the htpc.

Sorry for the delay in replying - the forums didn't send me an email when you replied...

I will try to reproduce this, but I am kind buried right now. If you have time though, can you set up a watch folder on the same pc as swmc and see if manually moving files into it has the same problem? I think I tried to reproduce this for you before and I found that I couldn't but I think that is what my mistake might have been.

I'm doing the same thing as you. As soon as a recording is finished, it is moved to a network share. I haven't been able to reproduce your issue with recordings disappearing. Have you tried removing the watched 'recorded TV' folder from WMC and re-adding? I suggest using the manual option in wmc so you can specify the path, username, and password.

hi sbthomas - when you say 'as soon as a recording is finished', how are you doing that? I'm just running a script every 4 hours, it's not triggered by a recording finishing.

I will however try removing the watched folder and then add it again just to see what happens..

I use MCEBuddy which monitors the 'Recorded TV' folder. I actually changed it to wake up at midnight and move any finished recordings. I'd like to have it move as soon as the recording is complete as disk space is tight on my media center laptop but am worried about performance. I believe MCEBuddy monitors the directory and processes the file once the WMC write lock is removed. But my recordings move nightly and I don't have any issues the next day accessing them through Kodi on a pi.

Hmmm - I removed the watched 'recorded TV' folder and re-added it - now none of my recorded T Vshows in the network share are showing up :S

They're showing up in WMC.... help?

Restart ServerWMC and check to see if the folder is listed on the Folders tab under the Watched 'Recorded TV' folders (from WMC) area. Also, post a debug log on pastebin and put the link here.

OK. It definitely is listed in the tab under 'Recorded TV' - WMC shows me the 10-15 shows (wtv files) that are currently in that folder.

The debug log is here: http://pastebin.com/fD7B6Ps9

Couple of weird things, the log says this: '\\server\Recorded TV' ShareStatus: Warning, Folder is not share with everybody or homegroup. - but I promise you, the folder is shared with 'Everyone' on my server.

Also, I think the issue appears to be this, but I don't know what it means: error: file's path is not in any wmc folder: \\SERVER\Recorded TV\Homeland_TEN Digital_2014_12_22_22_36_13.wtv

If that means it doesn't think that the folder is a folder listed under 'Recorded TV', I can guarantee it is - as I said above, WMC shows me the shows when I go into 'Recorded TV', and it's listed as a second location in the 'Recorded TV' folder.

This was actually all working fine, until I removed and re-added the second shared folder..

If you paste this path into file explorer on your machine called HTPC:

\\SERVER\Recorded TV\Homeland_TEN Digital_2014_12_22_22_36_13.wtv

it opens the file?

I found the bug (feature?). When you added the folder back you changed the capitalization to all lower case (i.e. 'server' instead of 'SERVER') and I didn't make the comparison case insensitive. The code is ancient - but I probably just assumed they would always match. I will fix this. Sorry about that. Let me know if that fixes it.
