Kodi logo suggestions and ideas
Still looking through the thread at all of the designs. Many of them look really cool.

Just wanted to provide my input on the subtitle. I understand the desire to move away from Media Center. It seems like Entertainment Center is pretty popular. However, when I think of Entertainment Center I think of the wooden, glass, or metal furniture designed to hold a TV and its components.

I saw a design early on that used Media Hub or Entertainment Hub and thought that was really cool. It seems to convey the idea of bringing everything together into one place.

Just my two cents.

Have a look at all the big companies and well known logos. How many of them incorporate what they do into that logo? Very few. Google, eBay, Sony, Samsung, IBM, McDonalds, Audi, Mercedes, Nike, adidas, Nestle, etc, etc., have logos that you recognise but essentially are nothing to do with their line of business.

That aside there are 1 or 2 well designed logos here.

I completely disagree, I will give you the credit that a wordmark type of logo is extremely popular, especially amongst the top brands, but there is more than just one style of logo and the artists on the forum are able to interpret their logo concept in whichever style they feel works best for them.

Companies such as Jaguar, Puma, Taco Bell, AT&T, Pizza Hut and Windows, all use a symbol in their logo that relates to the name/what they're about. But look at Logitechs logo, it is a stange abstract eye symbol.... it is neither a combination mark or wordmark, but it works and we all know it. To say that Combination Mark logos are redundant is arrogant. At the end of the day a logo is a logo, it either looks right for the company or it doesn't.

I agree that the logo doesn't have to mean anything specific, but I think you're a bit off here:

McDonalds: Makes up the "M" in the name and real arches were a part of the original physical restaurant buildings.

Audi: The four rings of the Audi logo each represent one of four car companies that banded together to create Audi's predecessor company, Auto Union

Nestle's: Their logo, which has been hardly altered since 1875, depicts a "little nest" which is the meaning behind the Nestle family name.

Since your such an expert on what is and isn't a well designed logo can we assume that you will be posting yours tomorrow?
I do agree that the logo doesn't necessarily have to have a play button or anything to tell you that it is a media center software
in it to be good but that does not mean that adding such things automatically makes the logo poorly designed.

Hub would be fitting but given the history with another "hub" i would guess that the team probably wants to avoid using that word in its name.

Point well taken. Toying around with a thesaurus I stumbled on the word nucleus. Perhaps Multimedia Nucleus. May be a little corny or a bit of a mouthful, but one could then incorporate an atom/atomic nucleus for the "o" in Kodi.

I'm not very artistic, but maybe someone could take the idea and run with it.
How do I get the logo I designed posted here? http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=201272 How do I get to the area where I can do my signature?
Media Platform/Entertainment Platform wins my vote.
Yeah, Me, Myself, and I, The Three Musketeers

@Cpl Dexter

Neither xbmc nor kodi have anything to do with particle physics. Though and atom always makes a good illustration, personally I dont believe it's right imagery to depict some entertainment media software.

@StarDesignLady

Welcome to forums.

Use any image paste site like http://www.postimage.org/ or http://snag.gy/ and post the direct links in between Image. As for Signature, you do not have enough posts to have a signature but that is on user control panel when you do.

The icons:

I made sure that any size looks perfect and that they work well on any background color. Smile

Still really like this. Why couldn't that be it? Just that central icon and forget about spelling Kodi in the logo?

Just have Kodi name underneath?

I agreed that design as a logo with Kodi Media Center alongside in plain text could work well
Just a little mess around with some of the ideas in thread, I guess more of a wallpaper than an actual logo?

Nice one, I like it... You trying to say that kodi is slow and slimy? Here is what happens to snails in my house.

I feel like this is the splash screen to Mortal Kombat or some other fighting game.
