After using the texture packer :

Why did this happen?

I've had issues with colors as well but found that if you save an image as a 256 color png than color shifts happen. However if saved as a 24 bit (16m colors) it saves as true color.

Really hard to use when Norton is screaming at me every step of the way. I finally got it to download, then it went nuts when the program tried to connect to the internet. It's like fighting a wildcat for that last drop of cream. It's labeled as a "Medium" threat for some reason.

Unfortunately, the target directory remains empty upon decompiling. Sad What am I doing wrong?

Experiencing exact same issue here.  Running VC Win10.  Need help.

For users experiencing problems with decompiling, please try download this version of vcredist: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update
Download and install both x86  and x64 versions. After it, decompiling should works.

Thanks! It did the trick and problem solved (hopefully forever...).

However, I am curious... What caused the problem in the first place?
Was the advise in the wiki to install the 2015 VC++ redistributables (instead of the 2010 ones, as advised by you) false?

Hello, I have an issue regarding animated gifs, after decompileing they are not animated anymore, just the first frame shows up in PS and IrfanView says "Warning! xxxx.gif is .png file with wrong extension!..." I tried to use Version 2.9.0, same behaviour. Unfortunatly I can't use any prior Versions because they'll start automatically to update. This issue was mentioned before here in this thread but unfortunatly there was no solution yet.

Is it possible to add Chinese filename support?
I'm trying to make genre icons, but the Chinese filename will become garbled after compiling.

Hey All:

I haven't worked on a skin in a year or two and was using the latest version of the Texture Tool to do my media folder. After getting my textures.xbt file, I notices it is almost 3 times the size of the folder itself. Is this normal?

Original folder size with all files is:
19.2mb

The texture.xbt file:
57.9mb
