How hard is it to implement auto select subs based on source/filename and/or sync status?

Since XBMC/Kodi has changed the subtitle handling I was wondering about this.
Will this be a subtitle service only feature or a generic XBMC/Kodi one?

Yes something like that but now with a check on release name and/or sync status. Is that something that a subtitle service should do or xbmc?

the feature downloads first subtitle from returned list, its up to service addon to place correct subtitle on top of that list.

Since name/sync matching is grey area, core can not be making those decisions.
