@hoopsdavis
Please send me a message (PM) and accurate your question, what you mean exactly.
Which points (4 points I mentioned) of my suggestions for Eminence you mean?

I have seen that asked several times lately. If the setting can be changed by JSON-RPC then you could either set it via cron or even better via a service addon which reads sunrise and sunset from the weather addon.

If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thank user' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "Thank you" button.)

I know he has a setting for "change background based on time of day"

maybe it can be applied to themes?

If it can be done by script/cron okay I can do that, but not a lot of other people can't so a setting would be nice no?

I created a german-language file. You can download it under the following link.

German language file for Eminence

Installation:

Create a folder inside the language-folder of the theme called "German":

/skin.eminence/language/German

Copy the downloaded file into this folder and restart XBMC oder re-initialise the skin.

I just started using this skin for the FireTV in my parents' room. They have been so much happier with this. I prefer Aeon MQ5 for my HTPC...but this skin looks amazing and works very well for them.

I just need to get the font a bit bigger for them. Any suggestions?

After playing around with all that has come before in this thread, I've decided to post my modified White - Burnt Orange - Transparent Home colors.
Please set your Skin Theme to Glass - for Skin viewing continuity.

Thanks to Jorgen57 for all the White and grey work...

@wrxtasy

I tested it briefly, your color scheme looks really good. I think I'll change a few little things for me,
but from personal experience I know, how "hard" it is all colors and color nuances succeeded to combine.

I hope, that this will be an extra "inspiration" for some people in the forum.Blush

Thanks wrxtasy for your share.

Cheers, I'm still not too sure about the Black Text for the movie description and Tile Tags. Its pretty hard to get transparency correct and text legibility when you have light and dark poster pictures cycling beneath.

Here is a mod to the above code for Mint cream text:

Code:
<color name="HomeBarFG">FFF5FFFA</color>

And even further Increased Transparency:

Code:
<color name="HomeBarBG">1FFFFEFF</color>

[Image: screenshot009.png]

***
Another tip for Increased Background poster legibility is to right click when in the Media Info view and select "Alt Style"

And finally if you want the Ultra clean look Home Screen:
(Definitely my favourite now !)
Code:
<color name="HomeBarBG">00FFFEFF</color>

1. Select Skin > Theme > Glass
2. Please tick this as well (thanks Jorgen): settings > appearance > skin > settings > Home screen > use theme color for focused tiles > tick
3. Another option you may like to consider is Fanart fading into the background. Least = show more Fanart.
-- This toggle is found in settings > appearance > skin > settings > Fanart > Fanart fade amount

To make it easy for everyone, unzip the following file into the .xbmc/addons/skin.eminence/colors/ folder...

Various Skin.Eminence - Colors - White - Transparent.zip

Lime - White - Transparent

I went along and started on a theme Teal - Orange. Very primitive. Saw Burnt Orange - Snow White and I think I work from there. I also don't know how to make a screenshot on TV.

EDIT; It's now Teal - Burnt Orange - Snow White. The orange is brighter here. Teal will come back in the selection menu's. Otherwise it's like emerald. At the moment I struggle the most with the movie description and Tiles. It's seems you can't edit the background from the description and the tiles separately. It would be so much easier if it could. (EDIT: Found a way around that!)

Code:
<colors>
    <!-- Thanks to wrxtasy -->

EDIT: Decided to keep the earlier version since it got something I like too. I will call it Teal Orange Black.
EDIT: I think I like this one better. Set tiles and topbar to theme color. I like the emerald. Will try true teal to see if that's better. I won't post it if it's not

Let me present the Light color scheme!

This is based on my previous posted "White" color scheme.
My aim has always been to present dark texts on light backgrounds as much as possible for readability.
The influence has been Jurialmunkey's skin Arctic.

The difference between the Light color scheme and the White color scheme is that it is little bit lighter (softer) and that it is also applied on the Home menu.
To do this i have worked on transparency and colors to give a more uniform color scheme.
To fully use the color scheme should "use theme colours for focused tiles" be set on.

Here is the code for a Light Burnt Orange.xml file:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<colors>
        <!-- Home Header And Panels -->
    <color name="MainLabel">FFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="SubLabel">BFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="MainLabel2">FF5f5f5f</color>
    <color name="SubLabel2">BF5f5f5f</color>
    <color name="OSD-NF">6Fcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="TopBar">4Fcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="TopBarDark">BFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="TopBarDarkIcon">FF5f5f5f</color>
    <color name="TopBarIcon">FF5f5f5f</color>
        <!-- Highlight Colors -->
    <color name="PosterHighlight">AFd76c38</color>
    <color name="Highlight">FFd76c38</color>
       <!-- Keyboard -->
    <color name="Keyboard">FFd76c38</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-BG">FFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-Keys">9Fffffff</color>
       <!-- Main Colors -->
    <color name="Background">CCfffafa</color>
    <color name="Selected">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="Selected2">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder">4F9f9f9f</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder-NF">4F9f9f9f</color>
    <color name="PanelBG">FFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="PanelBG2">FFefefef</color>
    <color name="RadioFO">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PanelFG">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PanelFG-NF">9F1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="Disabled">3F1f1f1f</color>
        <!-- Home Bar -->
    <color name="HomeBarBG">CFcfcfcf</color>
    <color name="HomeBarFG">FF2f2f2f</color>
    <color name="HomeBarSide">FF848484</color>
    <color name="TileDefault">FF848484</color>
</colors>

As normal you can change the RGB color to your favorite color on the following lines:
Code:
<color name="PosterHighlight">AFd76c38</color>
<color name="Highlight">FFd76c38</color>
<color name="Keyboard">FFd76c38</color>

I hope that this will also be popular in the community, like the white color scheme (I have already seen that some have made modifications based on the white color scheme).

Hi,

I have played around with different color schemes based on existing color names in Eminence version 1.0.9.
Maybe it will give some inspiration for people what can be achieved.

Here is a color scheme for the Americans:

Stars and Stripes
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<colors>
       <!-- Home Header And Panels -->
    <color name="MainLabel">FFffffff</color>
    <color name="SubLabel">FFffffff</color>
    <color name="MainLabel2">FFb22234</color>
    <color name="SubLabel2">FFb22234</color>
    <color name="OSD-NF">6Fffffff</color>
    <color name="TopBar">FFb22234</color>
    <color name="TopBarDark">FFffffff</color>
    <color name="TopBarDarkIcon">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="TopBarIcon">FF3c3b6e</color>
        <!-- Highlight Colors -->
    <color name="PosterHighlight">FFb22234</color>
    <color name="Highlight">FFb22234</color>
       <!-- Keyboard -->
    <color name="Keyboard">FFb22234</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-BG">FFffffff</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-Keys">9Fffffff</color>
        <!-- Main Colors -->
    <color name="Background">CCffffff</color>
    <color name="Selected">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="Selected2">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder">4Fffffff</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder-NF">4Fffffff</color>
    <color name="PanelBG">7Fffffff</color>
    <color name="PanelBG2">FFffffff</color>
    <color name="RadioFO">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="PanelFG">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="PanelFG-NF">9F3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="Disabled">3F3c3b6e</color>
        <!-- Home Bar -->
    <color name="HomeBarBG">CFffffff</color>
    <color name="HomeBarFG">FF3c3b6e</color>
    <color name="HomeBarSide">FF848484</color>
    <color name="TileDefault">FF848484</color>
</colors>
It uses the official colors of the flag of United States (White background, Red color and Blue text).

Here is another with a background (Aqua) different from the normal black or white.

Aqua Blue
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<colors>
       <!-- Home Header And Panels -->
    <color name="MainLabel">FF00ffff</color>
    <color name="SubLabel">BF00ffff</color>
    <color name="MainLabel2">FF000080</color>
    <color name="SubLabel2">BF000080</color>
    <color name="OSD-NF">6F00ffff</color>
    <color name="TopBar">4F00ffff</color>
    <color name="TopBarDark">BF00ffff</color>
    <color name="TopBarDarkIcon">FF000080</color>
    <color name="TopBarIcon">FF000080</color>
        <!-- Highlight Colors -->
    <color name="PosterHighlight">AF0000ff</color>
    <color name="Highlight">FF0000ff</color>
       <!-- Keyboard -->
    <color name="Keyboard">FF0000ff</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-BG">FF00ffff</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-Keys">9Fffffff</color>
        <!-- Main Colors -->
    <color name="Background">CC39ffff</color>
    <color name="Selected">FF000050</color>
    <color name="Selected2">FF000050</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder">4F39bdbd</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder-NF">4F39bdbd</color>
    <color name="PanelBG">7F00ffff</color>
    <color name="PanelBG2">FF00ffff</color>
    <color name="RadioFO">FF000050</color>
    <color name="PanelFG">FF000050</color>
    <color name="PanelFG-NF">9F000050</color>
    <color name="Disabled">3F000050</color>
        <!-- Home Bar -->
    <color name="HomeBarBG">CF00ffff</color>
    <color name="HomeBarFG">FF000050</color>
    <color name="HomeBarSide">FF39bdbd</color>
    <color name="TileDefault">FF39bdbd</color>
</colors>

Edit: Added one more color scheme with different background (Golden)

Golden Chocolate
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<colors>
       <!-- Home Header And Panels -->
    <color name="MainLabel">FFffd700</color>
    <color name="SubLabel">BFffd700</color>
    <color name="MainLabel2">FF2f2f2f</color>
    <color name="SubLabel2">BF2f2f2f</color>
    <color name="OSD-NF">6Fffd700</color>
    <color name="TopBar">4Fffd700</color>
    <color name="TopBarDark">BFffd700</color>
    <color name="TopBarDarkIcon">FF2f2f2f</color>
    <color name="TopBarIcon">FF2f2f2f</color>
        <!-- Highlight Colors -->
    <color name="PosterHighlight">AFd2691e</color>
    <color name="Highlight">FFd2691e</color>
       <!-- Keyboard -->
    <color name="Keyboard">FFd2691e</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-BG">FFffd700</color>
    <color name="Keyboard-Keys">9Fffffff</color>
        <!-- Main Colors -->
    <color name="Background">CCffdf00</color>
    <color name="Selected">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="Selected2">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder">4Fffd700</color>
    <color name="PosterBorder-NF">4Fffd700</color>
    <color name="PanelBG">7Fffd700</color>
    <color name="PanelBG2">FFffd900</color>
    <color name="RadioFO">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PanelFG">FF1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="PanelFG-NF">9F1f1f1f</color>
    <color name="Disabled">3F1f1f1f</color>
        <!-- Home Bar -->
    <color name="HomeBarBG">CFffd700</color>
    <color name="HomeBarFG">FF2f2f2f</color>
    <color name="HomeBarSide">FFdcc630</color>
    <color name="TileDefault">FFdcc630</color>
</colors>

These color schemes has not been fully tested, they are just examples what is possible to do by just changing colors and transparency.

I hope that you can find some inspiration with it.
