Music player cuts 3-6 seconds off end of files, skips tracks
#1
Hey all,

I've been having this issue for a really long time now (since 12.0) but I can't find any reference to this anywhere.

XBMC cuts the tracks 3-6 seconds before they end, sometimes it skips a track completely, sometimes starts playing the middle of another track for a second and starts a new one.

More details:
- I've been having this behavior on Raspberry pi and now on the Minix Neo x8-h.
- This happens on NFS, SMB and even when the HDD is connected straight throught the usb.
- This happens ONLY on XBMC, the Android OS apps play the files well.
- I've also tried switching to SPMC, XBMC for Minix.
- I've tried switching the default player by creating a new xml in the userData directory but XBMC seems to ignore that.
- MP3 file playing is stopped on when using an addons that streams them.
- Not using any crossfade or clipping guard.
- Sound is played through HDMI straight to the TV (2 channels).
- I'm using 13.2 (non beta) and 13.3 on XBMC for minix (but again, it happens on both).

Very, very frustrating. Sad

Can anyone help? Any ideas?

Thanks a million!

Uploaded.

I also played a small mp3 file and it skipped the last 6 seconds so I hope the debugger reported something.

Thanks.

These lines seem suspect to me:
19:11:00 T:1867766128 ERROR: CSimpleFileCache::ReadFromCache - failed to read 64784 bytes.
19:11:00 T:1867766128 ERROR: virtual unsigned int XFILE::CFileCache::Read(void*, int64_t) - cache strategy returned unknown error code -1

19:11:00 T:1867766128 ERROR: CAudioDecoder: Error while decoding 1

But I don't know what to make of it.

Update: It also freezes in the middle of songs (inconsistent) and occasionally it skips videos.

Did you ever figure this out? I've been experiencing this same issue with the latest version of Kodi on my Windows 10 machine.

I think I did, actually.

I have Windows 10 too.

Try the solution here:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/For...networking

Careful though, this is a registry value.
I set it on 50, it worked like a charm.

Also, test your HD transfer speed. It could also be the issue.

Good luck!

Hi guys, what a coicidence. I've experienced the same problems with a music file that always ended some seconds too early. This was fixed some days ago. http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16278#ticket

Try a recent nightly and see if it was fixed for you too.
