WIP IMVDb Music Video Scraper

Creating NFO files, is there any way that the scraper can make NFO files for possible future use. I say this because sometimes websites go down or they wind up, so 2015 the scraper maybe ok, but say 2017 the website might go down and might need to change hard drive so you would have a huge task of doing NFO yourself. I have loads of music videos now and what was slowing me down was manually creating NFO files, but thanks to http://imvdb.com/ and also your scraper, I can do at least 100 music video's a day so much faster than previous scrapers I could kiss you.

I am just having a thought as I am using Fan art TV at the same time as I am downloading graphics for the folder so for example

folder.jpg
fanart.jpg

So that it goes into the folder and then provides the graphics for XBMC/Kodi

Regards

Mark

I've tried to scrape a folder in which I've put my ripped DVD from Muse - Live in Rome. I ripped it in one mkv file first, and then cut it into pieces for each song. I hoped TADB scraper would pick this up, but that seems to be a problem. Searching around I found this scraper and thought to give it a try.
Unfortunately it makes a big mess of my music video's.

for instance: It might get loud (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1229360/) Is scraped as "Jennifer Lopez - Let's get loud". While the title does have some resemblence, it's a totally different video.

Also the seperate tracks within the folder "Muse - Live at Rome Olympic Stadium" has a few strange hits.
the latest 'song' "The 2nd Law : Unsustainable" gets scraped as Young stadium club.

Please let me know what information you need to properly scrape a ripped DVD (if possible at all). I'm willing to test some options and provide you with feedback to get a nicely working music video scraper.....

The Ripped DVDs in your case are "live" and not classed as music videos.

If you want to import them, simply rip the whole dvd as an image and scrape with the normal Universal Movie scraper. Assuming the DVD is listed on http://www.themoviedb.org/ it will scrape fine. You can then use http://kodi.wiki/view/Custom_video_nodes]Video nodes to section it off from your main movie library.

The DVD is indeed listed at themoviedb (http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/240237-m...ic-stadium). Should I store it as an ISO file or as a mkv file?
I'll look into the custom video nodes, thanks for the hint.

Either should be fine.

Personally I rip all my music dvds as single MKV files

I've tried both now. I put the mkv from Muse and an iso file from U2 in the movies folder and let the movie scraper recognize it. Both needed some name tweaking, but are recognized now and they play fine.
I can skip to the next song with my remote, but it's not possible to choose a particular song out of a list of titles. I haven't tried the custom video nodes yet, but I'll try it later this week and let you know what my experiences are. I hope they show up in the music video section then.....

@Gwystyl this scrapper only scrapes from IMVDB (Internet Music Video Database) it will ONLY scrape music videos from You tube,Veemo. The listings provided by the IMVDB EXCLUDES live performances, so even if you download a live video of Muse in concert singing one song for example, then it will not scrape that.

So if you was trying to scrap Muse - One of their songs (live) it will not work.

If you only wanted the live music videos, then you just rename the video to what IMVDB says that it is.

Hope this helps.

A thanks I'll put full concerts in my movie folder then, and try to play with the custom nodes to see if I can make them show up in the skin apart from the other movies...

Hopefully this scrapper is still in development. I have just had to download from git hub again, but when you try to install from zip it says wrong file directory or something like that, so you have to unzip and then put into you're user folder.

Just changed the file structure so this should be fixed. Updated link as well: https://github.com/tphoenix/metadata.musicvideos.imvdb

IMVDb Music Video Scraper

Current version: 0.6

Scrapes: Artist, Title, Year, Director/s, Thumbnail, Studio, Genre/s, Tag/s, Album (as Artist).

v0.6 (2015-01-16)
- Changed album name to be scraped from artist name instead of track title. This allows for all music videos by an artist to be viewed at once.

Hi tphoenix

From your quote above does that mean that your able to skip the album shortcut menu when selecting music videos. eg. when you click on an artist instead of having to select album first, can u make it show just all the music videos for that artist?.

That would be great

Just reading through the posts, seems you have put artist name as album then list music videos for that artist. This sounds like a good workaround saves clicking trough twice. ill give it a try.

Thanks

Since Jarvis it is possible to have "show all" list in music videos too. So the album level can be skipped and all videos of an artist can be shown.

Tphoenix, are you still maintaining the scraper? It would be nice if "album" could be scraped again. Some (including me) want the album information fpr music videos too.

Thanks for the scrapper! I play with it a little and there is some feedback.

It identified the file "Mylene Farmer - Insondables.mov" as Flynt Flossy - Naughty Farmer Smile

Hi all,

is there any way to help contribute for IMVDb database?
I have 93 database contributions that are waiting for moderation for more than a week now.

Another thing, for some reason only the music videos I have by the artist "311" doesn't scrape neither the artist nor the picture of the video, although all those music videos exist in IMVDb database:
http://imvdb.com/n/311
would be nice if some one could look into this.

Thanks,
