So has anyone successfully gotten the Nexus Player not to sleep or daydream?

I've got a consumer model NP, I'm running Isengard Beta 2 android x86, I'm using Kodi primarily for live television, genesis, sports devil, to launch android TV netflix and as a plex client with the amber skin and plexbmc. Essentially I'm playing no local content. I've had some hiccups (some trouble loading channels from the pvr on initial boot, some crashes with quick key presses, Netflix stalling when launched from Kodi) but no major crashes as described elsewhere.

My major annoyance is that whenever the NP goes into sleep or daydream when I come out of it, it brings me to the launcher. Then I have to relaunch Kodi and that's annoying because I'm having some trouble loading channels on initial boot and every time I have to go search for channels on the pvr after initial Kodi launch. I think the simplest solution is just to either stop android TV from going into daydream or sleep or keep Kodi running during that.

Is this an issue for anyone else? I can't find it mentioned in this thread or NP forum on XDA.

Any ideas?
