For this you'll need to use the soft "Enigmah"

I went through a few threads last night and I got the same suggestion, couldn't find the Enighma thing, but I think I just got lucky and found the PAL/NTSC selector on megagames dot com, uhuu, trying it tonight

It's like I got a new pair of eyes man Text's are so sharp now, movies looks so great in 720p, vivid colors with only around 35% CPU, unbielivable... Thanks for your help guys and last, but not least thanks to XBMC team, great job guys! Working on a XBMC remote application in .Net, hoping to finish in the next couple of months.

If like me you have a Plasma/LCD Tv then you'll no doubt be wanting to use the Xboxes HD output. But laying your hands on a component cable is nigh onimpossible M$ stop making them years ago, third party cables (still hard to get now the 360 out) have differing results. I just taken delivery of a "XCM Multi-Consoles Component Cable V3" & it's the dogs.

Yeah, i got the xcm v3 cable too, hd 1080i's working great on my tv, streaming dvd iso straight from xbmc. however, i guess i'll need to add a s/pdif and optical port to the xbox, cos it only provided a stereo white+red cable. it puzzles me though, cos they listed:

I got the Monster Gamelink 400X from eBay (having them shipped from US the shipping was more than the cables...) and the fonts are cleaner and the colors seem more vivid than the standard Euroscart connection, even in standard 720x576 PAL 16:9. I can't seem to get tghe HDTV resultions in MS Dashboard Video settings, only Normal, Letterbox and Widescreen, any help on that would be appreciated.

I have an NTSC Xbox XBMC (3 of them), but I might have to feed some to PAL and some to NTSC LCD TVs. Some HD: 1080p and some half HD - 720p.

I brought a XBOX HD A/V pack (clone) from eBay and the unit's digital audio stopped working after a few days usage?

I found two regular sellers of these units called "sudoku2" and "gameinfinity". I brought off gameinifinity.

Given the price and simplicity of the unit I didn't bother try to get a replacement unit or get a refund.

I thought the TOS SPDIF led was a bit dull so opened up the case, removed the TOTX178a replica (cheap clone by SUN, made in China), found a replacement part manufactured in the US I believe and soldered it place of the removed SUN TOS / SPDIF unit (just 3 joints to de-solder / solder)

The unit has worked beautifully since.

Most people would *kill* to find the MS original cables (including me). So where did you find them?

I would definitly go with the MS one's, since I have them with my first Xbox set, and the quality is superb.

I just ordered the Monster cable the other day and after doing much research it seems to be the best one to get depending where you live (Australia here) The cheaper ones from what i read also give very good results but it can be a hit and miss. All in the all the cable performs very well and the image within XBMC is incrediable.

I agree with Mobil_hrt01, if you decide to save a buck or two and it works - great. you won't regret either if you spend some money on a good name company cable, XBMC will look so much better on your LCD screen.
