Hi, sorry for the noob question.
I'm using LibreElec 8.2.0.1 (kodi 17.5)
How can I switch between the locations configured in the settings (with my personal api)?
And how can I show more details for every single day (If I hit on a day square nothing appears)?

It's the official kodi skin (Estuary). This addon is not optimized for It?

I installed version 5.0.0 on Windows 10 PC (Official Kodi 17.6, AeonMQ7 Krypton mod-1.4.0.10, Multi-Mod_for_Krypton_Mod_upd 031117, personal API key evailable) and I didn't experience any issue yet
I installed version 5.0.0 on Android TV box (Official Kodi 17.6, AeonMQ7 Krypton mod-1.4.0.10, Multi-Mod_for_Krypton_Mod_upd 031117, personal API key evailable) and Kodi crashes after some secs

Any suggestion?

After obtaining an API key, I have weather back, but the Daily forecast is still gone. I see only the Hourly. Anyone else see this?

I tried it on another system, also Kodi 17.6 (Windows 7 x64).

Same problem there as well.

As i had Yahoo! Weather installed before on the other system, I was able to setup OpenWeatherMap without it being installed before.
What I did is the following:

- Install addon (5.0.0)
- Set up Location ID and Location Name (in this case "Dieburg" as location name and "2937591" as ID as well)
- Restart
-> No weather info yet. (I thought this worked before without an API key, might be wrong though.)
- Added my API key
- Restart
-> Works for hourly weather info (like on the other system)

I also checked the OpenWeatherMaps API pricing again.

When using http://openweathermap.org/price it says "5 days/3 hour forecast API" available for "Free", but on https://home.openweathermap.org/subscriptions (when being logged in at least) it says 0 at the "Daily forecast" column and 5 at the "Hourly forecast" column. Dunno if this is relevant at all, just found it to be a little weird..

only accounts (api keys) created before that date still have access to daily data.


regrettably, but understandably, it's a pattern i've been seeing with openweathermap (and wunderground as well) over the last few years,
they limit the free features more and more every time.


not sure atm the moment what this means for this addon... perhaps it might be the end of it...

I changed to WUnderground with a free API key now, seems like there is still some more info than at Yahoo! weather service.

Is there any chance of viewing the download of weather maps running well again?
Currently the add-on doesn't take kodi to crash only if the weather map download feature is disabled

Any clarification or solution on this?

hi.
Since a few days, may be 2 weeks, every time a video stops playing (by going to the end), I got a pop-up error from openweathermap add-on.

It tells me to go and see in the log to know more about it. I didn't see anyhting in the kodi log from within kodi.

But when I look at kodi.log I see a python exception each time a video ends: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/26jrZkYvD6/

Moreover, I began to log the cpu temp of my rpi3. and last time I did not go back to main menu at a video end, temperature rise up 10°C because of that error. I think something was eating cpu.
Once I got back to main menu, cpu tempearature dropped immediatly.

github repo is down soo I can't post a proper issue there. Is there a repo up so that I can post an issu (with possibly more details). But the exception should e anough to track that, no ?

the crash happens in one of the standard python modules installed on your system.
it's not something i can 'fix' in the weather addon.

if you disable weather maps in the addon, the error should be gone at least.

I'm just now switching to OWP, and I noticed the lack of the daily forecast.  It looks like at some point since this post they added a 5 day forecast to the free tier.  Annoyingly, it uses a different API call than the 16 day forecast.  I sure wish they had used the same API call but figured out what to return based on the API key, but oh well.  Anyway, I was wondering if perhaps the addon could use the free 5 day forecast by default with an option to use the 16 day one.
