KOver : Customizable [Kodi 16]
@martinnz : yeah, I know, this wasn,t my first intention. KOver was made at the early beginning to be a simple PVR skin (how it looks like by default and what I still use). But I always need to push things further and made the designer which was a pretty new concept ... maybe too far. The Designer is a nice tool and you can make great things when you fully get how it works but this requires times, maybe too much so some people are giving up. My only regret now is to not being able to provide a real preview and get rid of those schematic squares, what could really make a better understanding. Sadly, from a code side, my attempts always failed or resulted on incredible loading times. I always tried to keep things as simple as possible, new users in mind, but translating the skinning engine a praphical way keeps being a pain with lots of contraints. I hope you will end finding your way ... If you need any help for building a view, don't hesitate to ask support here Wink

Another possibility for horizontal seekbar (arrow is a dummy...)

Reading your comment reminds me of my first fumbling steps in understanding this skin several months ago, when the alpha was first released.

It wasn't until Jay included zip files containing pre-built view types to be imported that by deconstructing each of those views, I was able to understand the different elements that make up view types and how to use them.

If you haven't already tried, use the wizard to auto-build different views. I used it to build each type of configuration - Classic, hybrid, vertical and horizontal views. I then took screenshots of each view type and then using the designer, broke each view down to understand how they were constructed.

Once you get the hang of a couple of views, it starts to make sense, but I agree, at the start I too felt completely lost.

I'm glad I persevered though, as I truly love this skin. Big Grin

Need to edit DialogFullScreen.xml file to display finish time when pressing Info. Don't know which line of code needs amending though.

I think im finally set with the progress bar (for both views...)
I replaced the progress/duration with remaining time...fits better with progress bar...

Digging the progress bars shogun. I'd be interested in the code once you are ready to share! I'm interested in learning more about this myself.

Also if anyone has a quick fix for adding episode air dates to the list view on widgets and/or addon viewing that would be awesome. I am using fixedlist type currently

Thank you guys!

Correct, the original air date. Just helps when following shows to know which week it aired.

I do not like new things about the player that you offer. I really like the menu roll in videoplayers. Please, thank you Jay not to change.

There won't be anymore changes in Jarvis release as I stated (except solving bugs). But any mods / screenshots / proposals are always welcome and inspiration feeding Wink ... Right now, I'm mostly with pen and paper trying to sketch up an "even more complex layout" able to handle more options from skinning engine.

Yeah, i think it will just take some time to get my head around it all. I just dont have alot of time of will probably take a few weeks.

What i am trying to create is something simple for the wife / kids. This is the kind of main / home screen i was thinking of;

Image

When you move through Movies, TV, kids movies, kids TV the recently added items change based upon the content of the folders where these are stored. You can cursor up to these recently added, or select the menu item. i.e. if you select Movies then you go to the Movies main menu screen which i would like to build something like this;

The same layout can be used for TV, Kids Movies etc.

Thanks Kokonutcreme, i will take a look at the wizard auto-build and see if it helps. One issue i faced was trying to get artwork on the back ground. I installed the artwork extender, but cant figure out where this is stored in kodibuntu to set the background to show full screen artwork poster backdrop for the selected item?
