The problem is - suppressing that dialog would be always in effect. This means also if you hit a single source video just nothing would happen. Giving the user feedback is very important. And before you ask - no XBMC can't detect if the addon opening the stream will try a different source after the error. We just can't distinguish between single source or multi source streams because those are completely handled outside in an addon in your case.
