Help please guys to wipe kodi/xbmc
#1
Hi all
I'm running openelec in my nuc dn2820 xbmc 13.2
I'm having a few issues recently so would like to try and wipe xbmc to start a fresh.

I've seen other sites have a fresh start option but I have a lot of movies stored on the nuc 500gb hardrive and i don't want to lose them plus I would like to use official channels to sort .
Is it possible ?

Many thanks

You are able to reset your XBMC/Kodi to standard....

What OS are you running?

You have to rename your ".kodi" folder to something else (kodi-old for example)

location is under $HOME/.kodi for linux...for openelec its /storage/.kodi

Under windows it is under %appdata%\kodi

Note: replace all "Kodi" to XBMC if you are using XBMC

Hi David
I only have openelec installed in my nuc running xbmc. I haven't seen words kodi so presume it is still xbmc.
Would just like to reset it all without losing any moves data on my hdd

You won´t loose your data, because we don´t delete anything. We just do a factory reset to OpenElec

SSH in and do

Code:
mv /storage/.xbmc /storage/xbmc-old

and reboot.

"mv" is a command for "move"...compareable with "rename". So we didn´t delete anything. All is still there, but it isn´t recognized by XBMC anymore. After this, there is no setting like before, no installed addon, no other skin than the default....everything is as it was after first installation.

Hope this helps

Greetings
