USB stick (ntfs only) auto-disconnects after 2-3 seconds
#1
Hi all,
i'm using xbmc 12.3 and i have the following problem with my ntfs-formatted usb stick. When i plug it in, the system mounts it normally (i.e. it's accessible) and after 2-3 seconds becomes inaccesible. If i try to enter the path (sda1) from xbmc i get the error popup-message:"Path not found or invalid".

I ssh'ed to my box and listed the /media/ folder where sda1 should normally mount. Listing the contents i see the following:"/media/sda1/ : Transport endpoint is not connected".

So, i did the following:
- umount -l /media/sda1
- mount -t ntfs /dev/sda1 /media/sda1

This got my usb stick to work but if i disconnect it (or reboot the box) i must again do this again.

I tried to edit the /etc/fstab and added a line to automount with ntfs the stick but no luck.

Anyone had this problem?

ps: with fat32 sticks i've no problem. Even when i format the stick i mentioned before to fat32 i've no problem so i don't think it's a faulty stick problem
