Thanks for the reply!  I have tried with num lock both on and off, still no access to the left slide out using the arrow keys on this keyboard.  Also on the MediaPC, I plugged in a keyboard and tried Numlock on and off, then using the MCE remote control left arrow.... nothing

As for the keymap editor, I am using MCE remote add on.  Anyways.... what should I replace left with? left Wink

Best approach would be to look at your log file (with debug turned on) after you've had a few key press tries and see what is listed if anything.

right (0xf083) pressed, window 10000, action is Right
left (0xf082) pressed, window 10000, action is Left
down (0xf081) pressed, window 10000, action is Down
up (0xf080) pressed, window 10000, action is Up

In settings under add-on controller profiles do you have IBM Model M Keyboard enabled?
Reply
The left IS indeed sending a "left".  This is proven in the TV or Movie listings, when I press left I can access the fly-out menu containing the view settings, update ect.  It is ONLY on the Main Menu when the left buttons on the remote, or on a connected keyboard, do absolutely nothing.
Ok, it gets even stranger.......

When I connect to my Living Room MediaPC over VNC, I can use the cursor "left" to access the slide out menus.  I went out in the Living room, and I can also access the left slide out with the left arrow button on the remove control.   When I go back to Kodi on THIS PC, the left arrow will not activate the slide out menu.  Both Kodi's are the latest, with the latest Aeon skin.  The same with the master bedroom MediaPC.  The settings are the same on all 3 PC's. yet only one will work with the "Left" key, and the remote control left  cursor.

Sorry, JUST saw that last part.  I am not sure where you mean "Add on controller profiles".  There are settings for "Add On's" and there are settings for "Profiles".   I have never seen settings for keyboards or any other hardware like that in any skin that I have used.  Is this an Add-On itself with it's own settigns?

I do have the settings set to Expert, so all options are visible.

EDIT: Digging much, MUCH Deeper I found it:  It's in Settings, Add-Ons, My Add-Ons,Game Add-Ons, Controller Profiles,  IBM Model M Keyboard, configure.

The option is enabled, and ghosted so that it can not be selected to disable it.  I did go into the keyboard configuration, scrolled to the "Left" command, selected it, then pressed the Left arrow, waited for the timeout, and selected Ok.  When returning to the main menu, the left cursor key still does not activate the slideout.

This smacks of dichotomy of hardware drivers, (or wireless) might be worthwhile to jump back to the default skin to check if this is indeed a skin issue.

I know it doesn't help you, as you can see in the screenshot the left key on my W10 laptop is working correctly in Kodi

Thank you, however that is on your weather screen. I can access the fly-out menu on the weather screen as well as the rest of the sections, such as while scrolling through movies, TV ect.  I can access those to choose things such as sorting, view type, updating library ect.
Do me a favor and go to your Home Screen/Main Menu, and try to arrow left on the Movies, TV, or Power buttons.  With [POWER] selected for instance, hitting the left arror should bring up the fly-out that has options such as reboot, suspend, shutdown, hibernate ect

For me, It is just on the Home Screen, that I can not access flyout menus on my main MediaPC.  It's frustrating, as there is no other way to easily select "Recent Movies" to bring that list up.

Here is my MediaPC in my living room.  When I have [MOVIES] selected on the Home Screen for instance, I can cursor left to get this fly-out menu pertaining to movies:

Here is Kodi on this PC.  I can not access ANY flyout menu's while on the Home Screen.   (The screens llok the same as all the PC's are connected to the same NAS, it IS a different PC)

NOTE: You can see the "<" arrow next to movies, indicating there is a menu available to the left.

I use the horizontal main menu option, the down arrow works and lets me see the submenu items, hopefully someone using vertical main menu on a PC will be able to help with reference to your screenshots

Thanks for checking.  It is so crazy, as this works perfectly on one out of 3 PC's here.  They are all configured the same as far as I ca tell.  As far as I know there is no "option" to activate/deactivate the home screen flyout menus.

The closest setting I have come to was shown to me above on enabling/disabling the IBM keyboard support.  It is enabled on  all 3 of my machines, it is ghosted on all 3 of my machines and can not be disabled.

Wow, can not beleive no one else is running into this issue!  It is happening here on 2 out of 3 machines.  All machines were set up individually over the course of a couple years.  No settings or files were copied from one machine to another.  The only cominality is the share the same network attached storage where the Movies and TV shows are stored.

I have went through EVERY setting, sub setting and menu throughout the skin, on expert mode, and found no settings to  change this behavior.

This is obvioually a bug in the skin / KODI.  When I am on the Homne Screen menu, with [MOVIES] hitghlighted, and I cursor right, it goes from movie poster to movie poster when I cursor right.  When I then cursor left, it does the same in reverse till it gets to the first movie, one more cursor left again highlites the [MOVIES] button, and the "<" reappears showing there is a sub menu to the left.  If I cursor left NOTHING happens (Other than the skin default 'click' sound).

If this behavior has to do with the IBM keyboard setting mentioned above, would this not effect ALL left cursor movement, not just in one single spot?  Especially since the same behavior happens while using the remote control cursor buttons.  While browsing movies or tv show listings, I can cursor left to access those fly-out menus for view style, sorting, sort order, library update ect.....

I just tried Estuary...  Does it even have fly out menus oon the HOme Screen for movies and TV?  I am kinda stuck, as they do not work in Aeon,  so noit sure if they are not working in Estuary, or if it just does not have them....

Hello everyone,

after a long time I have activated this skin again and have put it together the way I want it. But I have a question about the icons it shows me for the movies. For my 4k files it shows me the 4k logo at the bottom of the bar and then it shows me either DolbyVision, sometimes HDR10 and for most movies it shows me HEVC H.265. I assume that these are all HDR movies. But I can't see how it can tell the difference. Do I have a possibility to “manipulate” any xml file so that it shows me HDR10 instead of HEVC H.265?

@JohnWPB Yes the default skin Estuary has side-blade menus, sounds like something is stealing Kodi focus, look for background programs running that are incomplete.

@Eisi2005 All mentioned encodes are detailing what Kodi has found by interrogation of the video, (h264,h265 [HEVS],divX,Mpeg2, etc.) the HDR10 is the bit planes use to describe colours and the reference to Dolby Visions is 10+ in a propriety way (different than a 10+ description) and independent of resolution. (should be noted that all hardware involved must be complaint with HDR references to achieve visual differences).

Some hardware is incapable of handling h265 efficiently.
A lot of hardware is incapable of handling HDR.
Some hardware is incapable of handling 4K.

I thought with this skin the HDR info comes from the movie nfo file. I’m sure it does. Maybe the nfo overrides Kodi’s codec reader?

On interrogation of the video, this creates a single video stream details class for a video item wrapped by InfoTagVideo.and added to the .nfo
