I have since found using that along with the new emby addon you can have a perfectly synced library across several boxes. Although this is not skin related
Generally I've found with Kodi itself that when you add a film it only uses the poster / fanart, this is what happens also when you import your librrary as well. I've had times where full artwork exists but Kodi only asisgns Poster / Fanart when importing so possible the same with scanning a film in as well? If you go into choose art you only get those 2 options listed as well!?
Like you said, the work around is to run AD, making sure local art is set in the config for it, and then that pull everything else into the db for the film.
I think the actual scraper(s) is possibly where the issue is and that they need to be enhanced to pull all artwork. Could be wrong, and generally am, so don't quote me .
I've added 'Get artwork' as a direct option on the context menu, and also noticed on my test rig that there is a context item available from somewhere to do this as well, don't know where I got it from and can't find it at the moment, sorry
Another thing is perhaps MikeS thinking about executing AD after a DB update but that would probably be for all films and not just what has been added? Which itself probably isn't the best solution either for this?
