FFS do some reading. Your media, you know the DVDs you own or blurays or pvr with tv sources you are legally allowed to record. Your home videos. YouTube, vimeo.

As previously mentioned, you really need to do a bit of reading, before asking questions... this is a good start: http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR

1st of all you need a "backend" or a TV server of somekind this will run a seperate program like MythTV, MediaPortal, TVHeadend etc (this decission will very much depend on you OS) , the "backend" can either run on the same "Box/PC" as Kodi or on a seperate "Box/PC". You mention your using Android, i dont beleieve there's a native "programe" that can be used (i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong), so your only option is to have a seperate "TV server/Backend" running one of the many "TV server programs" (mentioned above or in the Wiki).

Once your sorted with your backend sever you then need to install the relievent TV addon in Kodi, this will allow Kodi to "talk" to you TV server and allow Kodi to display the TV stream. The TV option on the home menu will apear once everything is enabled and setup correctly.... if you've done everything as described then you'lll probably need to post some Logs http://kodi.wiki/view/Logs

hope this helps....

And please open a new thread in the future since in 99% of all cases the actual problem is not the same from thread to thread.

So am I to understand (AshG) that just using the TV setting to enabled and adding a URL to an IPTV list like from pastebin.com with a guide URL and a Logo file on my Fire TV running Kodi 15.1.1 will not produce a TV icon on my main Confluence screen? I have also enabled TV and Simple PVR client. I have rebooted Kodi and tried enabling and disabling the PVR multiple times. Nothing I have tried works almost like the latest stable version of Kodi no longer works in this mode. I have previously done exactly the same thing on an earlier version of Kodi (Helix instead of Isengard) and was able to get the TV icon to appear and some channels to work. I have never read or heard of anyone mentioning a backend TV server so I'm kinda confused by your post. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Iptv simple doesn't require a back end. However most of the m3u files you find are illegal, or outdated, or both. Your logs should show what's going on.

Hi gents

setup: rpi2+openelec5.95(Kodi 15.1)+pvriptvsimpleclient1.11.5(fromsuperrepo)

in my case /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log shows

01:00:11 11.749573 T:1787778112 NOTICE: PVRManager - starting up
01:00:11 11.749956 T:1734288448 NOTICE: Thread PVRManager start, auto delete: false

but it works if i manually go to configure the addon and simply click ok (Log says: PVR IPTV Simple Client: Loaded 34 channels.) and then disable/enable the backend (settings>tv). now TV appears on the Main screen.

FIX: after changing the M3U Playlist Path (tv list file) to a local file (instead of remote) it works.

Guess this is a bug.. maybe it is trying to get the location when internet isnt available during the boot sequence. if it allows a remote url should be executed after internet access enabled

That's an Openelec specific issue, it sometimes starts Kodi before the network is available.
