I have a strange problems with my TVHeadend installation.
When i try to play a stream on HTSP i have that error:

My headend only plays metroska or pass ts stream to client. But by default HTS plugin uses htsp protocol.

Where is the problem?

My version: tvheadend: version 3.9.2232~g39d985b

This is not a support forum for the VLC HTSP plugin, and now that I look at your log you're not even using HTSP but actually HTTP. Can you play any other channel?

The URL you are trying is not valid for the TVHeadend server.

open of `http://10.40.0.12:9981/stream/channel/46c6559e04195bdc02b67f40557d3850' failed

To get a .m3u type playlist enter this URL in your web browser: http://10.40.0.12:9981/playlist

It will download a file named "channels" or so from the TVHeadend server.

Open the downloaded file in VLC and you should be able to play your channels and switch through them.
