Win Kodi Helix-rc3 Video problem (Green Screen) [Fixed - helix 14.0]
#16
Today I tried "KodiSetup-20141219-d558be8-Helix" but I still have the same problem. Should I wait another 24hours for the next nightly?

EDIT: I also tried http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/win32...hd4000.exe / KodiSetup-20141217-67d8260-hd4000 After the nightly, and I still cant play 720p/1080p files. SD content works fine.

I can confirm that the latest nightly includes the fix for green screen on ATI cards (mine is HD4250). All the videos with issues both SD and HD (720/1080) play without issues in DXVA. Can also confirm that H.265 videos play just fine without DXVA. Just perfect, fully migrated from Gotham to Helix RC3 (Dec 19 Nightly build). Will await the final now.

Thank you Fernetmenta.

Looking at https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/7729...ff84f56d20

The ATI DXVA fix only currently applies to the follow ATI card series's:

HD2xxx
HD3xxx
HD4xxx

So HD5xxx series cards are excluded from this fix for older ATI cards that only support one video decoder instance at a time, if HD5xxx falls into this category as well then it can be easily added by the looks, it just needs FernetMenta to confirm what the issue is in your case as it maybe another unrelated DXVA bug.

Great care here. ATI has labeled some HD5xxx back in that time, that were really HD4xxx cards, but rebranded. Others are "real" HD5xxx cards, those should work.

Starko does the new patch (should in the nightly) fix your issues?

Not sure it is there yet. But can make a build for you to test, it will appear in: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/win32/ (give it one hour) -> process: http://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/WIN-32/2901/

I just switched from "KodiSetup-20141219-d558be8-Helix" to "KodiSetup-20141220-8b1a2e3-Helix" on my Arctic to answer your question. No difference, just like @fritsch said. I will wait for the test build and then try again.

I think the fix will appear in one of the next nightlys, if I confirm that the build fixes this?

Try that: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/win3...-Helix.exe <- might need a bit until it's on your mirror.

it would appear I have the same issue on two systems.
one being a desktop with a Crossfire setup of Radeon 4850's
the other being a Laptop using a GeForce GT 555M

I have just installed KODI and have encountered the 'Green Screen' problem when playing any video files.
I have a ATI Radeon HD 4550 video card with the latest drivers.

Any help would be appreciated.'

Thanks.

Roll back the drivers - I have one 4550 card that does the same, latest drivers killed it.

I had original drivers (approx 2010) they didn't work - showed the green screen. Changed the drivers to version 8.970 xxx without any luck.
Still have the green screen.
